YOu guys still remember those old USB ADSL modem with no ethernet port? They used to come with some kind of software that lets you see how much data is being transferred "live". A kind of data transfer meter. What I'm trying to depict is that the software has a "blue bar" that goes from 0 to 512 or 0 to 1024 or whatever speed your ADSL streamyx comes with. It also has an upload bar that does pretty much the same thing. The good thing about this "meter" is that you can roughly tell how fast you are downloading or uploading every single seconds, by staring at the blue bar that goes from left to right (nifty little animation). But most modern router, modem, modem-router-switch etc dont have these, so I'm just thinking, is there any 3rd party software that does this? A reliable one of course. |

You can use the Windows Performance Monitor. Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Performance Monitor. Add in counters for the network interfaces.
