Sorry to bark around here, 1U free wifi is totally useless......Request time out for all the wifi network.........Nothing is free in this world.

I agree. I tried it out the other day and even though signal strength was excellent, the connection was crap. Looking at the stats, 1 Utama uses 11mbps nodes, whereas Starbucks uses a 54mbps node. Oh well, can't really blame 1U, it must be difficult setting up free WiFi to service such a large area.

Are you sure? I live nearby and go there often and I've not seen/heard anything like that.

QUOTE(goliath @ Aug 7 2006, 02:21 PM)
Is there any wifi at Starbucks in SS15 Subang Jaya (opposite Inti college)?
*

Yes, I go there often. Signal and connection is good, though I won't vouch for the latency. I've not used it for anything but surfing and chatting. Gaming's a whole new ballpark.

I 'm sure lots of people know Coffee Bean provides WiFi for their customer for free. They're using Airzed and you need to enter the username and password which the staff will tell you.

Sg Wang LG
Username: cbsgw1
Password: airzed

KL Plaza
Username: cbklp1
Password: airzed

Now, anyone who knows the username of Coffeebean outlets add it to the list, let's surf together smile.gif

I had really bad experience with Airzed. Two times i try to use their service also got problem. First time in KL Centre, call them they said public holiday can not repair the thing. Second is in Sunway Pyramid coffee beam, Initially also can not connect, call them they said they forget to on their modem. But the speed in still worse than dial-up. I thing their customer service also sounds like form 5 school boy cant even speak proper english. Well, i told myself this is the last time i go to coffee beam is they still using airzed, i shall stick to starbuck for timezone. ( Airzed claim that their speed is superb, that is why i just want to try out...Than, it gives me all these crab...And the guy over the phone promise to call me back...i doubt so..

Hentian Tapah,Hentian Sg Perak & Hentian Gunung Semanggol & Sungai Buloh Overhead Bridge Restaurant. <--FREE

* FREE WIRELESS BROADBAND INTERNET FACILITY AT R&R
All PLUS highway customers traveling in Perak can now drop by at any rest and service areas (R&R) to access the Internet.

In supporting Perak's K-State status 2010, all PLUS rest and service areas (R&R) on the North-South Expressway in Perak is offering free wireless broadband internet service to highway customers. This service is offered through the Nation's leading internet provider, TMNet.

Perak Menteri Besar, Dato' Seri DiRaja Mohamad Tajol Rosli Ghazali launched the new service at the Tapah R&R (Southbound) on 4 July. Also present during the ceremony were the PLUS Chairman, Tan Sri Dato' Mohd Sheriff Mohd Kassim, Managing Director Dato' Idrose Mohamed and Perak State Exco as the Chairman of Education, Human Resource and Information Technology Committee, Dato' Dr. Zambry Abdul Kadir.
With this new facility, the public can now surf the internet through laptops, mobile phones and Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) at hotspots offered at all PLUS rest and service areas in Perak for free, 24-hours a day.

The Wireless Broadband Internet service is also provided at Sungai Perak and Gunung Semanggol Rest and Service Areas in Perak as well as the Sungai Buloh Overhead Bridge Restaurant.

Before the end of this year, all R&R along the PLUS Expressway will be providing wireless broadband internet service to all its expressway customers

I second that, TIME's WiFi is among the best through my experience. Sad thing is their coverage isn't really wide, if only they could offer their service at more areas then it would be great.
