First of all, i want to keep clear so that all of you will not spam me about some common questions that i already know what u guys want to ask. I bought it on e-bay, the dealer is from taiwan so i guess this shipped it from taiwan, i get it around 3.7k included shipping fees, tax, sirim permit bla bla bla.....

user posted image

This is a Full Spec comes with 32GB padfone with pad station, stylus pen, and station dock. The warranty also in taiwan only, so if u also plan to do so, bare you own risk. The spec you can easily google it so that i wont say much about the basic and cut the crap to my point of view / impression of this machine.

The first one i opening was the padfone of course, the phone itself is very light even after i put on the battery, the total weight is 129g(with battery). Holding it is very comfortable and solid like never before even though its made of plastic. The phone is very very thin but when you holding on your hand it doesn't feel like it will slip off from your hand because of the wave surface design battery cover at the back. The colour and the design makes the phone very noble , stylish.

It contains 3 hard button which is, power button (on top) , and 2 volume button (at the right side of the phone), earphone jack on top middle, the left hand side are the micro usb and micro hdmi and battery charge from the pad station (dun know how to call it)

user posted image

Then, the pad station with 10.1 inch screen, 1200x800 resolution, 724 gram, 6600 mAh battery capacity. For me,it is a little bit big and the weight still acceptable, but when you jack in the padfone, the total weight is a 853g, so its heavier than an i pad 2. The disappointing part on the padfone station is the speaker only contains ONE on the left hand side so the stereo sound system doesn't that good. The screen is bigger than i pad but the frame is seriously thick just like a China Tablet, if the screen make bigger replace the frame, i think it will much more like a netbook and it will be very good experiences in watch video / movie. Beside, the both side of the pad station wasn't speaker, if do it really does perfect stereo speaker.

user posted image

Here comes the pad station dock, its 646g weight, has similar battery capacity to pad station, keyboard (similar to netbook format), mouse pad, 2 usb port (the usb port got magnet cover, the cover will be auto close if no sub attach to the port), charger port, and memory card reader. The total all combine weight is 1,499g, for me it is very heavy if you holding around without put in a bag to hang on your shoulder. The main point of this pad station dock is that one of the usb port can SUPPORT EXTERNAL STORAGE (HARDISK) , which very good for people who need huge storage spaces to store their documents / songs / and even movies. After i installed a player application which support mkv file (Hd movie file type). Its amazing smooth but buffering takes longer when u start a movie which takes around 1 minute. IT CAN WATCH HD MOVIES WITHOUT ANY LAGGING EVEN U FAST FORWARD. Btw, the typing experiences is very solid unlike you are typing plastic keyboard. A little disappointing on the mouse pad, it reaction is delay around half second when u slide the mouse pad. But with the touch screen, who else need a mouse pad. (PS: You can use a mouse connect to the pad station dock, the delay problem is not happen to a mouse).

user posted image

Last but not least, i'm sure everyone who willing to buy this phone one of the reason is the ASUS STYLUS HEADSET, very noble design, with rubber head that able use to slide on the tablet or the phone to avoid any fingerprints. the headset is connected with bluetooth, the headset can be connected to any phone which have bluettoth function (TESTED). There are three button on it, (power on, power off, receive call, end call) 1 button and volume up volume down. One of a feature that i look through is if u left it behind, the tablet and the stylus headset will keep beeping and vibrate, unfortunately that was just a concept, the tablet will only beeping once and vibrate, and the headset will only vibrate a while if they are disconnected. The stylus headset charge very fast (estimate less than 2 hours can be use a day)

(Grammar is not that good, if have any questions or problems you can post in this thread, will answer it when i fell free) sweat.gif cool.gif

I'm actually interested to know if the Padfone station can fit into the original Transformer's keyboard dock and vice versa.

Sorry im a newbie here. The stylus headset u can use on the surface of padfone and pad station 10.1 inches so you don't have to use your fingers. But does it have the function of a headset as well(u can talk to people using it?) so when u r holding your padfone and pad station, do u tag it on your shirt or sth?

Confused, it looked like a pen but its called headset?

no problem i'll explain to you, the stylus headset is design for when the padfone slide into the pad station , you no need to take out the phone or holding the whole pad to put on your ear. you can use the stylus pen to answer the call. Amazingly, the headset does the great job, it very sensitive to the screen, the rubber like have spring so that to make you touch more comfortable, speed charge can use a day, and the sound is very clear and loud when you using the it to call.

wow, nice set!!

i personally think that the price is rather reasonable as its a 3 in one gadget. its the same reason people buy 3 in 1 printer. u get to use it in 3 different ways, whenever u want to show ur frens or parents the photo u taken using the phone, the amount of time u wifi sharing to ur pc, or transfer, or hand to them one by one will not be faster than docking the phone into the tablet and show them all togather. since nowadays smartphones always lack of power, whenever someone goes to work, they can just dock it into the tablet and put it into a bag and answer any calls using stylus in the pocket too.lastly someone sent u mail and documents u need go back to ur pc and open, with this, u just simply dock into the tablet and edit whatever u want and sent, in the same device, problem solve, issue done.

i personally think that it worth the price. =) of cos if it released in malaysia the price will be even cheaper i guess.

i went through some forum they said can ask for global warranty but that is not my concern by the way. this phone concept was came out from last year, so they already set this is performing a dual core that quad core is launching in this year only. and thx for the viewing, its really good nice piece but a bit clashing when swap into pad station. "this is first concept, what do you expect" wink.gif

Can the tablet be used to charge other smartphones with the Micro USB port? Would it fit?

Also, are you able to plug the Padfone (phone) to a HD TV? Some say can some say cannot. Is there a HDMI port on the tablet itself?

If you turn off the stylus headset, when you turn it on, do you need to pair it again?

nice questions:

Can the tablet be used to charge other smartphones with the Micro USB port? Would it fit?
i think the tablet only can fit is the padfone because theres two port jack in the tablet that same ask the padfone. every phone have different sizes and distance between the micro hdmi port and the micro usb port.

Also, are you able to plug the Padfone (phone) to a HD TV? Some say can some say cannot. Is there a HDMI port on the tablet itself?
Second, i haven try out since i can let it become like a netbook and i don't have a hdmi to micro hdmi cable.i went through xda developer forum, they said cannot yet, hope asus will settle this issue and its only due to software issue. And no, there no hdmi port on the tablet. i think asus wont give a chance to let you connect a display and other display.

If you turn off the stylus headset, when you turn it on, do you need to pair it again?
Last, yes it will auto pair back unless you take out / jack into the tablet. the headset will not pair back

May I know more about the 'Clashing'?
Really thinking of getting one. Eventhough its dualcore, I dont think its too far behind. Heck in my office nobody have a quad core phone yet....i dont think they care also biggrin.gif

On Tablet mode, if we received call, can the tablet be used to talk like a normal fon? I dont think i'll be getting the stylus headset
