Cable television operator Astro All Asia Networks PLC is planning to raise around US$1.5 billion in an IPO in Malaysia. The company is looking to list in the fourth quarter of this year.
Astro has a virtual monopoly on pay-to-watch TV services in Malaysia and operates eight terrestrial radio stations. The company was de-listed from the Malaysian stock exchange following a 2010 buyout by Mr. Krishnan and the investment holding arm of the Malaysian government’s Khazanah Nasional Bhd.

This company sure very hot when the IPO opens. The dividend if not mistaken maybe around min 75% of profit, because the listing only involved malaysian operations same like maxis berhad. First list, then delist, after than few years relist only the malaysian operation. Not many people do what AK did for the company

(maxis listing due to urge by ruling party). well as an investor i do make money from Maxis IPO. back to Astro, i dunno, but need to see some valuation, i bet This post has been edited by nasni: Jun 12 2012, 03:11 PM

Well, is it not a blessing that troubled laden Indian operations are not included inside Maxis Bhd? Digi got sucked in India n have prepared for the worst by writing off the whole investment.
Is it not a blessing that the troubled Indonesian operations are not part of Astro's relisitng? Its former Indonesian partner is now trying all ways n means to avoid paying the arbitration sum to Astro
