Holiday package only got RM44/- 88 hrs (512 kbps), and RM77/- unlimited (1 Mbps). Btw now already 2006, so holiday package over already.

But you can upgrade to the normal package RM66 unlimited (512kbps), I think. However I think you need to go to TMpoint or Clickers yourself or ask one of the 'resident' agents here to help you.

The thread talks about "wrongly capped" streamyx right ?

I subscribe to Basic 512 package, I have been downloading at speed around 40++ KB per sec. But since last week, I discovered my line has been changed to 1024/384 bandwidth, I dont know why.

Now I'm downloading at speed around 55 KB per sec. This 55 KB per sec is way below the 1024kbps speed....

So, can anybody gives me some suggestion what should I do to improve my download speed ?

Hey I'm also having the same problem as yours..Same Package 77...and also same problem complaining for 3 weeks bus still no action taken.... Same as u download speed at 412Kb.... n my modem status is 512kb D 256kb U...

I think the best way is to print a snapshot of your modem page and also TMnet speedometer test results and complain directly to TMpoint. Once you have registered your complaint they will give you a printed complaint slip with the reference no and description of the problem.

After that if they take a long time to fix your problem, you use that as proof to claim for rebate.

I have a a money issue with TMNet too.Off course I have make complaint and whatever black and white to support.
Along the way they sent some not nice e-mail and I answer back.
I refuse to pay them the disputed amount for more than 2 years.
I just pay the rm66 every months but not the disputed amount.
I hold the money (about rm280 ). Eventually after 2 years , they agree and I pay about rm260.
So for rm20 dispute , I hold the total amount for 2 years.

You should do the same.Just don't care, pay rm66 and let the diffeent accumulate and when its 1Mb line then pay rm77 (but before paying that , plse minus whatever you had overpay them)

The money is in your hand.They had better come out a better way to take your money.

I'm trying to upgrade from RM77 to RM88 online but the stupid website won't let me. Where's the 1mbps Basic pack? It only lists the Enterprise and Corporate packs

same problem here as well...but i upgraded my package at tmpoint KLJ~ then after 1 month they still not upgraded me..so i went to complaint again at tmpoint...immediately after 1-2 hrs my line being upgrade from 512 to 1m but my download still ard 55kbps only..before upgrade is ard 47kbps......erm

the gal say will ask the tmnut tech guy to upgrade my line on this monday...but....could it be the tmpoint there upgraded my line but the dslam there not yet cap?...

I had the 512 Kb for more than 2 years. My average dl is 430 Kb on good seeds.
Then I have the 1 Mb line.My average dl is only 470 Kb eventhough I can hit 820 Kb at TMNET speedometer.
The speedometer test is quite useless cause it only measure a SINGLE transaction to TMNET FTP for 10 SECONDs only.

So unless you are lucky , there is only a very slight improvement in dl speed.

If I have known , I will definitely NOT choose the 1 Mb line.
So if you are doing fine ,DON'T go for 1 Mb

You went to TMPoint. I'm trying not to go there. I want to upgrade online. What the hell is an online upgrade webpage for then? TMSuck is so stupid. I emailed them already about this telling them to fix it, they said "thanks for noticing our dumb mistake" and until this point in time, it has not been fixed. They seem to ALWAYS delay whatever customers want.

Plus TMPoint staff are ugly and don't process requests properly (like what you just said. One month still no upgrade)

actually i asked tmpoint staff ab the question on if they can retify the problem so that i can apply my upgrade thru online but she say..it's hard...so she ask me to apply that time at tmpoint...so..the only way u can do..is to go over tmpoint...

TMNUT online application is hopeless. As I know only reseller can ugrade/downgrade online for you because it involves many people to get a simple thing done.

TMNUT work flow is chaos at best. Seriously they have to get some consultants like me to set up a workable workflow or system.

Then those dumbasses might as well just remove the whole page off the net so that they don't confuse anymore clients. Plus, they are an ISP, so this kind of stuff shouldn't be "hard". Well obviously TMSuck is not a normal ISP so yeah. They find everything hard.

hi. TMnut also miscapped me, but now just restored only.

I'm using Basic 1Mbps package. I did the Speedometer test n i got:

DL = 102.45kbps; UL = 40.94kbps
DL = 819.6kBIT; UL = 327.52kBIT

Is this the correct speed that I should get? I still hav doubt about the connection speed coz my fren got up to 700kbps (max so far) when he download stuff from certain website.

Besides, another fren of mine who stayed at USJ 1 got the same result as mine (shown above). Wat surprise me is... his only 1 Basic 1Mbps line is splitted into 6 computers n all of them were online at the same time while we were doing the test.

I'm not really good with this kind of things... pls advise. Thx.

Obviously you got the right speed because you wouldn't have got above 512kbps if they had miscapped you lower.

I normally use kbps=kilobits per second and kBps=kiloBytes per second.

i've always been usin rm77 package....recently my line had been upgrade from 512kbps to 1.0mbps...without notice or whatsoever.So i assume it's an upgrade that streamyx had made for me/us and i found out my download speed are higher den usual..which i used to download at 53kbps...n i got 61kbps
now..the real nightmare starts here,jz yesterday.my download speed had been reduced to almost 10-9kbps.
is this a case of miscap or what?

2ndly,what download speed dat 512kbps or 1mbps suppose to have?

First,did you use bt download?If bt now not only you have such problem but everyone also facing this shit problem.

Second,as i know for 512k connection you should be able download around 51kb and for 1mb connection you be able download around 100kb.

I subscribe to the 512kbps package, but I'm getting capped at 1024 says my modem. But the speeds I get are very low, only 40kBps. When I check my transfer graph (using DU meter) i get this:

I don't get it. Why does my connection peak to 100kBps, then drop to 0(ZERO!!)kbps then peaks again. I really don't get it. Anyone have any ideas? I thought that it might be something to do with them capping speeds at the DSLAM although my line is capped at 1024.

Been using RM88 for months, realizing since the 1st day that they gave me 512kb instead of 1mb, called them, they recorded now, and now this is my 4th complained made on them, still stick with 512kb package, they told me I am staying in Ampang, the line there is bad and old, so it won't support 1mb package...

Is it true? I thought since they are offering 1mb, they should have come up with the requirement to fulfill what they offered to us.

If so, bloody hell, why didn't they tell me from the beginning since I applied it in TMpoint somewhere near my house(of course in Ampang too, near Ampang point), and now they are refusing me to downgrade my package, saying that I had only applied it for 5 months...

Near Ampang Point should have 1MB , . You need to mock them up by phone call or appoint them. Even my 'kampung' area can have 1MB, with those elite region (Ampang Point) should have it right ,

i applied streamyx for 1.0mb but when i do bandwith test i just got 200-300kps..i thinks this is rate for 512kb...

i call telekom for complaint that problem...about 2 week later they call me that they just upgrade my streamyx connection...

i do the bandwith test again it still 200-300kps...anybody know how can i get above 600kps?
