Due to the fact that I have received numerous PMs asking the port forwarding configuration for Aztech DSL600E/EU/EW, here you go with the guide.
>> Link <<

Though the link shown is Dlink modem, but our modem/routers is 99% similar to it. And keep in mind that for BitTorrent, the ports that are required to open are: 6881 ~ 6889. If you are using BitComet, do pay attention to your listen port. It's far more important than the generic 6881 ~ 6889.

Wahh.. 115 only ahh.. I bought at 155 last month..dang!..
there's actually a firmware upgrade on the ftp site but it's not as straightforward flash. The zip file (6mb) contains so many different image files.. I managed to find the right one and flashed it in..so far so good. But since me using as in bridge mode, I don't know what improvements or corrections over the previous version.
Aztech ftp site very screwy.. most of the time cannot access..if can, you're lucky lah!

Yeah, it was really a good buy....It's cheap because I subscribed to Streamyx and has RM50 rebate. Moreover, the reseller gave me a Lantech LAN card for free coz they say my phone number is not on the waiting list.

However, can anyone please tell me if there IS really a problem with DSL600EU's 'Custom Rules' in Port Forwarding? Previously, I encounter this problem in my work place also, same modem....My job required me to use the Custom Rules to open port for web server....And the modem went dead after that time....Now it's my own!! Ooooo...I shud have already realised then!

I never use the custom rules. The basic rules work fine for BT and other apps..

Yes...there is a stupid problem with the firmware with this modem. And i have changed the modem twice because i tried to modify the Portforward IP to 192.168.0.1 and the whole thing KONG once i SAVE it....Reset button never revive the modem.....

Luckily im using a wireless router and i just need to do my port forwarding in my router...and Bittorent download speed ~~Zooooooommmm...

This modem is good though..speed very stable...not hot also,as im 24/7 online...

Yes...u need to manually set your DNS in your LAN(TCP/IP)-->i assume u know how to get here..

Then..set these
IP address: 192.168.1.2
Subnetmask: 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1

Prefered DNS: 202.188.0.133
Alternate DNS: 202.188.1.5

Why would you want to flash the firmware if you're using as a bridge modem?

The flash might invalidate ur warranty.

but the retail staff wont check the modem also..
i brought the modem back twice..giving same excuse..'Reset button not working, cant reset settings' the guy just change it no question ask..

No offence. I believe it's more likelya user problem rather than a modem issue.

Many users of 600EU have successfully port forwarded for BT usage.

Pls outlline the steps u undertook in attempting port forwarding on 600EU.

If this modem will crash if we do something wrong, then THERE IS problem with this modem. I already had the same fate on this modem twice! BTW, I called Aztech and they told me they will only have stock again 2 weeks later...and I ain't gonna use it as a router, gonna brigde it.

Anyone here have backup modems? Is it a good idea to have 2 modems so that we can have redundancy?
