QUOTE(ycs @ Dec 1 2005, 09:43 AM) Since this requires the services of a wireman it will be my last resort. Want to see if there are any other reasons for this 'no-signal' DSL problem frist before calling him in. I still suspect TMnet didn't jumper properly, maybe on purpose, so that I will require and pay for their installation services. Just a thought. |

For those who keep advising to to call 1300 helpline, I have already mentioned many times that I have already done that and they are no help. The just keep saying that jumpering already done. They can't help further.
So please stop suggesting that line of action But I do appreciate all your replies. Thank You. |

Ngto, hv u solved this? I also want to register the Streamyx. I just bought the modem and get it connected to the wall line jack. I found that the DSL light did not turn on or blinking.
I do not know whether this is normal or not, because I hv not register the Streamyx yet (plan to do on-line). So, will the light turn on after I register Streamyx and activate it after the light become stable? |

For your case, test it out with another modem to see whether there is a signal or not. Chances are that its the jumpers problem. Go to their office personally and fire them. It happened to my gf's case but luckily I know the supervisor in my area, so she checked and found out that the technician did not jump the signal even though its written in the records that its set.
Whatever it is, DO NOT ACTIVATE YOUR LINE if your line do not have a signal. And you can do self-installation yourself, just need to move those tmnut staff butt around. Try to go to your local branch and insist on talking to the manager... Good luck |

I did not register yet. I know the DSL light should not turn on before I register, but I though it should at least blinking to indicate that the modem is looking for the signal? Pls correct me if I am wrong. I am confuse here. Furthermore, how do I get the username & passowrd thru on-line registration?
Can some body list down the activities that need to carry out for the first time registration user ? This post has been edited by wmfei: Dec 4 2005, 09:38 PM |

I was passing by a shopping complex yesterday and there was a reseller promoting the Streamyx packages there. And as luck would have it, there was also a TMpoint representative around to help the resellers people to answer technical questions. So I complained to the guy about what happened, and he asked for my phone number so that he could check for me. After that he said that my line was not done at all, and promised he would solve the problem for me first thing Monday morning if I just filled up the forms and registered with the reseller. He also photostated my I.C. (So much for the 1300 helpline lying to me twice before that everything was already properly jumpered and even giving me the name of the person who did the work. Should have taken down his name) Anyway, I will wait till Monday to see what happens as he said he would call me once everything was done. But it could also be a case of the guy purposely tricked me to register with the reseller so that they would get the commission. But I would like to think he could really help to set things right on Monday (tomorrow). Will post an update tomorrow. |

Can some body list down the activities that need to carry out for the first time registration user ? wmfei, 1) register online. Among others they will ask you for you preferred user ID and password. 2) Along the way if you keyed in everything required , there will be a confirmation slip that you can print out. Keep this as a record of the registration particulars. (If there is no port available, there will be some sort of funny 'error' message when you check your application status online. If there are ports available, the status screen will say something like "Service Available. Installation in progress") 3) After about one or two days, call them up to see if they already jumpered the line. 4) If so , then just connect your modem to the line jack and power on. No need to switch on the computer yet. 5) If they have done things properly, you should get a blinking DSL signal and shortly later the light will stabilize (that's what I was told). Also don't know if it's the same for all modems). 6) After that you can set up the modem in Windows and if you are sure there are no problems, you can call the 1300 line to activate the account. nowadays, when i call the 1300 hotline, the automated-sound recorder told me to dial the 03- numbers. my area dial-code is 04, so if i dial the 03 numbers, how would it charge? local charges or 'from 04 to 03 charges'?

High possibility: They don't do Jumpering Properly.
They got do Jumpering but didn't do it properly. Normally DSL Light blinking is not yet set Jumpering but your case is totally no DSL Light. So either Jumpering Problem or Line Problem. You need to pay for 1-300-88-9515.....It's not FREE. Call the above no & get a Complain Report No "Very Important" If they deploy contractor to fix for you, there could be a installation charges involved....so make sure they fix at the Jumpering site & not at your house. Because Jumpering problem is their problems & their duty to fix it up. You already paying for RM75 Activation Fees. You can do Cancellation within the 7 Days Activation Period. So, be smart to Cancel it if still no DSL signal. With the Complain No.....you can write a letter & Fax to their Management or Call Direct Complain No. This way much Faster then keep on Calling 1-300-88-9515....because most of the time....they are hopeless... |

Thanks Mika, it has been over 1 week already but I have still not activated my account yet. Anyway they told me before that those who subscribe without modem(without installation) won't get auto activation within 1 week. They will activate only when the customer has informed them to activate. That's what they told me. Is it true you will still get a blinking signal even if jumpering have not been done yet. If I connect to any phone line without broadband, will I get a blinking light. Can you please clear my confusion? If that is the case, then it's likely my phone line got problem? since there is not even blinking signal. btw I am using this current phone line for two years already for normal dial-up and there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with the wiring. Wrong, you will get Auto-Activated anytime after 7 Days Auto-Activation. This is the new rules which running since 5 Months ago..... I can check for u....is your line is activated or not. Yes, it's true. You get DSL light blinking in any ppl house phone that didn't apply for streamyx. DSL light blinking means no Streamyx Signal. DSL light stable means got Streamyx Signal. No DSL light at all means either the station doing the jumpering not fixing it properly or port problem or line problem. So, it's TMNet duty to fix that kind of problems. It's not your phone line problem. |

I also got such problem..after they fixed the jumpering, i switch on the modem and called the 1300 to activate my account... i was put on hold for sometime and finally some1 picked up the phone..
she asked for my detail then asked me whether the dsl light blinking or not..i said no and i was asked to unplug the splitter and connect directly to the modem c whether the light got blink or not.. in the end, nothing happened so called her again n was put on hold again..later she asked me whether wanna book a time and ask the agent to come cause nothing can be done at the time.. so i jus agree on tat lo.. few days later the agent came..tried many times but the dsl light still no bliking, then he called the telekom people to do the jumperin again..after the telekom people go do the jumperin again, i finally can c the light blikning liao... so i think the best way for u is to ask an agent come or ask telekom people to do the jumperin again.Jus my opinion |

same here. When i subscribe Jaring Wired Broadband , TMnut's worker inform Jaring that my line jumpering had been done, and Jaring workers phone me and ask wether I want to active my account , and I told them the jumpering had not been done , and they called an TM agent come to my house.

So, it's TMNet duty to fix that kind of problems. It's not your phone line problem. Then those people at the 1300 are actually cheating by saying those who apply without modem (RM44/- package) won't need to worry about auto activation and will only activate when I give them my permission. Question about the jumpering. How can a bad jumpering job cause a complete loss of DSL signal on the modem when even a non-jumpered non-streamyx line can at least get a flashing signal? Pardon my ignorance. I am complete dummy in these technical things. This post has been edited by Ngto: Dec 5 2005, 12:57 AM |

They purposely made your modem no DSL signal, so that you have to agree for them to come to your house and then charge you for installation fee. That what I think they are doing to me and lots of other people. |
