Hi, I'm desperate, literally.
My download bandwidth is 2000kbps++ but I am having problem with my upload bandwidth which is, sad to say, ~30kbps only (sometimes much much lower than that) I suspect its the line, but how do I tell them this? How do I get TM to actually fix the problem? Should I call 100 or TMNet? Each time I call them up, they'll either be bureaucratic (pass me to here and there; maybe want to pass to everyone in the dept p/s: Is there a TM technician/representative here in the Networks forum? |

The following table shows the relationship between downstream attenuation and potential connection speed on a low noise line:
Attenuation.............Approximate Line Length............Potential Connection Speed 32db...................................2.3km.....................................16000kbps 35db...................................2.5km.....................................14500kbps 40db...................................2.9km.....................................11800kbps 45db...................................3.2km.......................................8500kbps 50db...................................3.6km.......................................6500kbps 55db...................................4.0km.......................................4500kbps 60db...................................4.3km.......................................3200kbps 65db...................................4.7km.......................................2000kbps |

QUOTE(Irzani @ Oct 18 2008, 12:42 PM) yeah, i seen that numbers b4, from my experience, i tried to change adsl mode from default (G.Dmt/Multimode) to 'G.Lite' Mode!!!, it was working at my old workplace when one day, the modem suddenly went haywire then, i play2 la with the setting (followed my instinct then ok la downstream around 1536, thats normal, right? try it, trust me This post has been edited by leopardus: Nov 2 2008, 11:41 AM |

QUOTE(selinix @ May 4 2008, 02:02 PM) Thanks for that ... I am not sure how far my house is from the exchange.. but surely i know my 1mpbs package sucks... hardly can get good speed especially in downloading.. Sometimes i am curious how my friend can achivie more then 100 kpbs of download speed but i hardly touces 50 kpbs... The upload definitely got problem.. i tested it at tmnet speedometer it took quite long to complete... I think have to call tmnet techinican to check my copper lines... has your problem fix? where is your area? |

Find out the default gateway of your PC when you're connected to the modem and then do http://default-gateway-ip on your Internet browser, login with username/password (tmadmin/tmadmin by default) and find out the status there.
