There is a weird prob with my connection..
Every time I answer and incoming call(landline phone).... my line will get disconnected
What may be the cause of this prob? Faulty telephone line? blink.gif

I have weird DSL synchronization problem. My DSL light will stop blinking if I power off my desktop CPU, or it will blinking like crazy as long as desktop is powered on. So I have to surf over wireless with my laptop if I want to access the Internet.

Is it because of faulty modem? Or electrical field device may disturb the SNR margin? Please enlighten me.

I have a question, does changing new microfilter helps improve the SNR margin?

I am having frequent disconnect about every 20 min and sometimes it takes up to 30min to connect until DSL stop blinking.

US Margin 10
DS Margin 8
DS Line Attenuation 37
US Line Attenuation 16

As I know the higher the better but it seems like it doesn't look good.I don't really understand much about those figure number means.
Hope expert will kindly help out

Thank you

@kingmax

I'm assuming you're home user. Call tm to recap your speed to whatever package you are on, coz looking at your speed (8Mbs) above their capped you at the wrong speed. This sometimes can cause a lower SNR margin (syn issue) and as result your connection will frequently dc...

sidenote:

Us/Ds rate = Upload/Download speed
US/DS Margin = Upload/Download Signal Noise Ratio (SNR) Margin
US/DS Line Attenuation = signal between DSLAM/Modem

Welcome and no worrielah...this day most of streamyx user got the so called free upgrade some example 1Mbps to 1.5Mbps and 512Kbps to 1Mbps. Just tell them your line (dslam) are capped to high at 8Mbps they well adjust it to somewhere between 1-2Mbps...i guess (assuming your package is 1Mbps).

FYI, mine is capped (dslam) to 3Mbps but download never reach to 250KBps and i'm on 1Mbps package.

Good luck wink.gif

What box? The small telephone port at the pole or what? Since as you can see my line is awesome.
