to get vids from youtube, just let the video completely finished loaded and go to "temporary internet files" find the file with location from youtube, copy and paste it into your desktop and add a .flv extension. done. to improve it, get a converter and convert into .avi or any extention you want, currently usin total video converter, not free...but you can *ahem* it....

im usin total video converter, too. nice piece of software - converts anything to anything and also can rip out the audio from video and save it.

with orbit downloader i dont need to wait for the whole video to complete buufering before save coz usually i dload things too and by then it would get slow(on 512k streamyx). Once orbit is installed there is an icon appearing above the window of any downloadable content and once u click there the media is queued to download via ur fav download manager to view later. dont need to name the file or add .flv - its all done.

furthermore, there is zero archives corrupt since i changed to orbit from flashget.

yea, Orbit downloader does the job for Youtube and Metacafe (actually there are a lots of supported file download)
the main thing it sucks is it changed to become a default download manager for all files and need reconfiguration to make it just works for downloading video only

With Maxthon web browser, you dont need any 3rd party software to download youtube as it has been slipstreaming to the browser itself
