i didnt manage to get G55 in lowyat today... they said they have only 4 units, all sold out when i decided to buy at the shop... sri computer even markup the price till 4199.. salesman said there will be more stock coming next week and price ll be more cheaper since it is not over-demanded.. might wan try my luck at digital mall tomorrow..

i bought it at sunway pyramid.the headphone comes inside the big box with the other stuffs.the seller opened the box infront of me

so it is all bundled freebies for the rm 4999 model..unfortunately the rm 3999 model only comes with a asus bag

The former G53SX 3D bundle doesn't come with the Asus ROG Vulcan Headset.

First time? It normally comes bundle with the purchase of Asus ROG Desktop. GenTechPC did a promotion throwing in the Vulcan as a free gift for a limited period previously.

U pay for what u get. Don't expect too much.

That is not the vulcan..it is the stell series siberia rog special edition headset..the vulcan headset is different.so much of difference of the bundled freebies between the 4k model and 5k model.

According to GenTechPC, this below serves as instruction to access the Wifi-Card and mSata in G55VW.
In other words, ur basically ripping apart ur laptop.
And Another note, Since G55VW GTX 660M is soldered on board, anything on the motherboard spoil/GPU fried case, u'll have to replace the whole mainboard.

I just came back from Gurney Plaza & managed to talked to a GadjetZone Techie there.
Currently, they have the G55, but not on display as their boss trying to push the G53 out first. Looks like we can only see it after we pay for it? grr.

So now I've got a couple of questions that I'd appreciate you guys helping out with. I'm planning on getting a non 3D G55 for work.
1. Any idea which shop to get it from? I'd prefer to view the unit first before buying, or else, I'd get it from exoticpc in the states. Also, I need to get a receipt of some sort so I can claim from my boss.
2. I believe that the onboard RAM is 1600MHz, If I were to add RAM, where can I get 1600Mhz RAM in Penang, & how much should I add? another 4Gb or another 12Gb?
3. What are the freebies that I could expect bundled with the G55? According to the Gadjetzone Techie, there were no freebies, no bag, no mouse, ect.
4. According to the Gadjetzone Techie, any upgrading of RAM or adding in a SSD to speed up the boot up would have to be done at the Asus Service Center. If so, how do they guaranty that they don't screw up the machine? Already heard many horror stories on the service center ppl fixing one problem but breaking something else.
