Hi there. =)

I'm currently 17 years old, taking SPM later this year.

My plan is to get decent enough results - study at PTPL (formerly IPG) doing A-levels in Law - and get a scholarship to a university in Australia and study Law.

The thing is, if I do not get a scholarship to Australia, my chances of studying there are pretty much shot. I'm hoping to get to the university of Melbourne or Sydney.

Any opinions/comments? I wish there was an alternate way to Australia without banking it all on a scholarship, unfortunately my family's funds are limited, so I think thats all I have right now.

This is something I encounter often especially for new school leavers (SPM) as they are pretty much attached to their friends for few years ...

That is why I'm mentioning this issue here ... And hopefully in return, they will take their time to look at this issue ...

In case anyone have anything they would like to add in to the first post, please drop me a PM with the details ... And of course, credits will be given to that person ...

In case you don't know. You can complete ACCA at the same time you complete a degree. Because ACCA collaborates with a university in UK. So it's CAT -> ACCA + the degree. Overall takes around 3-4 years if I'm not mistaken and if you don't fail anything.

How reputable the degree is compared to the accounting and finance degree you're talking about though, I don't know. I'm a CAT student by the way.

v. certificate

this is ur last choice. certificate usually offers very, very generic skill, and usually does not involve manipulation or implementation of knowledge. (which i forgot to mention: skill and knowledge is two very different things). but due to its short duration, some of u might opt to take a certificate to boost ur application.

these can be very basic certs, for example: "cert of basic PC assembly and repair"; "cert of ledger management"; or "cert of autoCAD" (just to name a few). usually the course range between 3 days to 6 months, depending on the depth. but this will seriously BOOST ur applications.
so that's about all the options u have after SPM in malaysia. i'd be happy to answer any questions or queries.

if i have bad results, i go for certificate course which is my last chance, do i still stand a chance to take diploma and degree?

erm...how is your a lvl result?if you cannot gt scholarship to further your study in prestidge universities such as university of melbourne,i think u will have to change your path.if you really want to go australia, the way that i know is KDU twinning programme which collaborate with university of tasmania(3+1),it is money-saving and a quite desirable degree can be obtained too.why u never think about UK?for UK,there will be more choices such as HELP university college which has great experience in holding degree transfer programme with numerous UK universities and there are many well-known universities involve too such as university of manchester.

I haven't taken A-levels, I'm only planning to. I'm taking SPM this year.

I didn't aim for UK because I think its more expensive than Australia, also further away. =) But thanks for your reply, I'll definitely give UK some thought now!

Hi, Im having my spm this year.

Well, I've decide to enrol in college in january 2010,next year.
then, take a degree in chemical engineering.
Im confused between foundation and a levels.

I want to take foundation in science but the problem is I dont know either it is recognised or not, I heard that foundations are only recognised by its own uni, which means I can only study foundation and my degree in the same uni. Is it true?

the reason why i want take a levels because it is international recognised, which means after i finish a levels, i can continue in any private u , not limited like foundation?

is it true? can anyone suggest? i think i had made up my mind to study chemical engineering, chemistry is my interest.
