QUOTE(iaknesnah @ Oct 27 2011, 01:23 PM) most ssd uses sata connection just like 3.5" hdd so u can use with no hesitation. but there are also ssds that come in micro sata interface but u just need to have the adapter to use it which u can find it from garage sales Thanks for your reply But if you look at the picture of the motherboard I attached, it has a special slot for SSD on the board. That is why I want to know if the slot is meant for the ordinary SSD or there is a special SSD size. It's maybe like a microSD card with adapter so it can be slotted in a normal SD port QUOTE(TDUEnthusiast @ Oct 27 2011, 01:38 PM) So, is the slot for this SSD like this seller http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=2076551&hl= is selling? Will it fit nicely on the board? |

QUOTE(imranSILVER @ Oct 27 2011, 02:22 PM) Thank you so very VERY much Yes, I think msata could be more expensive than SATA SSD. Now my question has been answered So, the motherboard has this kind of SSD slot onboard, yes? I bet the price would be a bomb! I believe those Iconia Tabs use msata SSD, right? http://www.ocztechnology.com/ocz-nocti-msata-ssd.html SATA SSD is getting cheaper and cheaper nowadays. |

QUOTE(imranSILVER @ Oct 27 2011, 02:10 PM) Thanks for your reply My mistake on that part. The slot your board has is known as a mini-SATA slot and not a micro-SATA slot. You won't fit a 1.8" SSD there. A mini-SATA SSD can also be known as a solid state drive without a cover and with a much smaller than usual dimension. But if you look at the picture of the motherboard I attached, it has a special slot for SSD on the board. That is why I want to know if the slot is meant for the ordinary SSD or there is a special SSD size. It's maybe like a microSD card with adapter so it can be slotted in a normal SD port So, is the slot for this SSD like this seller http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=2076551&hl= is selling? Will it fit nicely on the board? Mini-SATA SSDs are rare anyway, but they are still cheaper than the normal 1.8" / 2.5" solid state drives depending on the brand. You're probably better off buying a normal sized solid state drive as it will be easier to obtain them. |
