The coupon code for Cynet Studio is SL-592K, I copied it from another forumer, you can view it just a few pages before this. You'll get 20% discount. smile.gif

BTW, is Cynet reliable? Anyone has any reviews about it?

Questions
1. Is it better to register the domain name on a server ONLY for RM 35 ringgit and use free hosting service
OR
Get a hosting service for RM 100 with free domain name ? For new websites lah.

And i currently finding a registrar to transfer my domain name. The previous one cheated me with hidden charges. So i wanna CHANGE.
2. who can offer me a price cheaper than RM 35/yr (for domain name registration only)

3. And tell me IPserverone, whats with the 50 MB limit database and the less than 60 concurrent users for the 99/yr package ? Whats with the limits ? All of the numbers looked just nice to me until i saw the limit there. And it suck

4. Usually how much space does a forum use ? Lets say this forum. 500 MB enough ?

Lets say i have my domain name registered in A server(Registrar). And hosting in a free B server(Hosting server).
5. Will my website shut down if either one of them lost connection ?

1. It depends on you, whether you can afford a host, are you very serious with your site, if you are, I suggest you to get a paid hosting. If you're just playing around, get a free hosting.

2. You can get it from Cynet for RM35, I think.

3. I think it's the limit for your database's size, not very sure though. sweat.gif

4. How big is your forum? LYN? 500MB? Of course not enough!! Big communities like LYN need a lot more than that! shakehead.gif

5. Of course your site will be down if you hosting is down. I don't think domains will lost connection.

Agree with most of your points.

As for "Hosting + Free Domain", please be careful not to fall into the trick of the hosting providers. Make sure you own the "Free Domain" as I understand the "Free Domain" is usually owned by the hosting providers for such case. So, please be careful!

If the hosting server goes down, yes your site will be down. For the domain name server, there are simply lots of DNS server worldwide, that is why when you make changes to your domain, it takes up to 72 hours for the new changes to fully propagate on all these worldwide DNS servers.

Thanks.

Hive is still the best for their online support. I've been using them for the past 1 year and never encountered any problems. but then again, i only used their webhosting services to host some files and my blog so..yeah. They seem to have gotten a lot better after the huge crash.

And Giztech's site is not exactly user friendly so I was kinda put off by it. & it doesn't have contact numbers/mailing address/online support.

Anyone heard of http://www.welltodocentury.com/?

Looks like a good deal~ or maybe too good to be true?

Hi myc04, this is to clear things up. We have mailing address and different medium of communications on our website (Such as the contact us menu on the top). However, contact numbers via phone is not one of the company policy that Giz Technology uphold.

Besides this, we do provide online support for any hosting issue that you encounter. Thus we hope you would not pass such harsh judgement on Giz Technology on a national forum.

If you have any futher quesitons, feel free to pm me.

Thank you.
