Correct me if im wrong, but I am guessing there's something wrong with the battery indicator/kernel, try reflash. Realistically wifi tethering for 18 hours and still 100% is not realistic. No offence.

Thank you for the support biggrin.gif
Hm, I will look into the agps problem later on, there's a lot of work round for that, most of them can be found in the CM forums, seems like Cyanogenmod have that problem also. Though as for me, I use GPS setup from Samsung apps port, and it works wonderfully, other apps from market can also work, you need to experiment though.

And others who seek updates, I just finished up preparing my Mac workspace, replacing the original Ubuntu workspace with mac lion, smile.gif starting from scratch this year, and I have plenty of space to experiment with ICS also biggrin.gif Just need to collect some funds on buying 2nd phone for the sole purpose of developing, having my main phone reflashing every night is not easy as I need a stable phone.

hi all, just a quick question.

have installed the gaia rom and was trying to test out v6 supercharger yesterday and realized few things

a) after installing root explorer, it seems that the app only stay in black screen mode for a long time, and asked to be forced closed

b) after trying to reinstall script manager, i can no longer open the app. keep on saying "the app has stopped unexpectedly."

c) after installing titanium backup, it seems that it cant get root permission, which i feel very weird

d) cant install busybox as well, same error as titanium back up, cant get root access

e) cant update superuser binary, saying md5 checksum failed

whats happening to my phone >.<

btw i keep getting block letters even from normal english words. anyway to remedy this???

also few bugs, cant do wifi hotspot?? is this true??

thanks all sifu!!

Hi All,

Bought the mi300 (stocked with froyo) at CSL warehouse sale 7th Jan at only rm299. My 1st android experience!

Using z4root somehow cannot root my mi300, but managed to root via the SuperOneClick method.

Wanted to upgrade to gingerbread2.3, so tried flashing CM7.1.0 via ROM Manager, but the .zip always failed halfway through the flashing process.

Really wanted to try MYGingerB 1.1.0 Gaia, looks a very promising ROM, buatan Malaysia, but very confused after reading this thread (too many ways to minimize problems, dunno which one to follow). Can someone help?

Am now using Phantom King ver2 (android2.2.2, kernel Apps_2.6.32.9).

Thanks in advance.

Seems like a root problem. Double check that the ROM you're flashing is Gaia 1.1.0, older version have this problem, you can also check if "su" bin is in the xbin folder or not, cause that's the cause. Although it should be gone as I fix it in Gaia 1.1.0. Try reflashing.

Well, you can check my dev blog on how to. Since you are in froyo rooted, back up the ROM using ROM manager, or download the latest froyo stock ROM from CSL fb page if it's still there. After that follow the instruction on installing either from my blog, or take some tips from mr terry@android as he's provided more detailed instruction on installing.

Do note that as of recent version of Gaia, tethering are still not supported in some phones. And wifi active even after screen lock are also not supported. But you will experience very fast performance compared to stock froyo. Believe me, It took me 2 days after I bought my mi300 and flashing it with cyanogenmod, it took me 3 days to created Gaia after that tongue.gif

Have fun with your phone biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Haha, Sorry about that, indeed having fun isn't the right word.
For me I enjoyed android platform soo much, still I haven't use any Iphone till now, but honestly I do impress by the UI and the 100% compatibility of the iOS and OSX, I still dream on compatibility like that on Android on a platform or multiplatform for that matter, imagine Android sync 100% with Linux or even windows, same like the iphone with the icloud or itunes, still in terms of freedom and customization, iphone sucks badly. And forget about blackberry, my father uses one and even for me it's complicated and not to mention pretty outdated. No offence.

Owh and about tethering, like terry@android said, indeed 2.6.35.x will work, but there's a good chance that the touch screen will not work, or go crazy for that matter.

sync everything into one device? that not gonna happen. even in dream,

Why??/ becoz even in real world samsung and apple keep sue~ing each other for a tiny little problem. so even in dream world, that not going to happen.

wait till i create my own world without hatred, greed and jerks. In there, ur dream will come true mr angelictears. biggrin.gif

Added on January 16, 2012, 2:22 amAfter much research, this setting comes up as da most best result for mygingerb to function in fully, but still no tethering. I will giv instruction once so do not repeat asking me. Luckily GAIA doent activate it s2e script, right mr angelictears? (checking with kitchen for info on ur rom, sorry to peek into ur work wink.gif ) so that perfect.

Added on January 16, 2012, 3:23 amDownload this script and put it into ur sd. http://www.mediafire.com/?8cic17fatjrcj4e

1. Dont be stingy, go buy class 6 or class 10 sd, high end sd with 32gb is perfect, no kingston, that brand sucks!
2. flash ur fone with cm7.0.2_z71_battery_memory_fix.nb0 using sutlr
3. reboot recovery, do not enter rom by rebooting. use 3 combo key
*4. straight flashing into cm7.1.zip (can be obtain on boston mania)
5. Again, reboot recovery to change da color of the cwm.
6. flash ur fone with mygingerb GAIA. no need to wipe dalvik or cache as u never enter da rom.
7. reboot recovery after flashing and partition ur sdcard, choose wisely how much u wanted, as for gamers, 1gb is recommended, but for usual use, 512 will be enough with 0 swap. juz choose urself. This will format ur sd so after ur partition, choose mount on recovery and mount ur sd, plug ur cable into pc and paste da script and rom zip back inside, dont create folder or copy data first, leave ur sd with that script and rom or kernel zip only. Then install any kernel u wanted, as for me edgar#37
8. power off ur device, use 3 combo to master reset ur fone. wait till it end.

*as for me, after it reboot, i will install root explorer, giv da permission and copy bundles of apk such as (1)ram manager by juwe, (2)quadrant, (3)root explorer, (4)titanium backup (taken from phantom rom), (5)playerpro, (6)contact remover, (7)sdtools into system/app folder by allowing Mount as R/W, change all that apks permissions into rw-r-r, exit root explorer and uninstall it back, and reboot device into recovery. As for someone who already satisfy with mr angelictears system apks juz....

9. reboot recovery after step 8 without any change.
10. this step a lil bit tricky so read carefully.
i) choose on mount and storage and check if any list checked as 'unmount' if there is, change it back to 'mount'
ii) wipe dalvik cache and data partition.
iii) choose install from zip and install that damn script
iv) no changes will be made after this.
11. reboot ur device without any changes. Juz wait, screen maybe flicker or dead for a while, ignore that. juz be patient

*if after 20 minute without any changes, need to start back to step 4

12. after its reach rom, check ur internal storage in setting, it will convert into ur ext partition depending on how much u partition ur sd, if it doesnt change, thats mean u FAIL.

#do not tick 'Allow application moving' on cyanogenmod setting.
#if application u install move itself into sd. Go to setting/application/manage and move it back to phone. Whats da point partitioning ur sd into ext if u put ur application on fat32.
#from this point, DO NOT FACTORY RESET UR FONE. it will reset da script and ur fone will visit to heaven for a moment. juz clear cache and dalvik from titanium backup or other cache cleaner apks.
#if u got a 3 beep sound from ur fone, do all those step again.
#try quadrant and u will get 2200 score without any overclock. da IO will increase drastically.

* This method is really dangerous, i really not recommend it but if u wanna see da result, try it, as i always said, no point talkings, JUZ DO IT. if u success, ur fone will be da same as galaxy s score.

DO NOT USE TASKILLER, use ram manager from juwe, choose balance and it will do it work without asking for payment from u. For those who already know about this method, juz shut up as i giv to those who dont know.

Added on January 16, 2012, 3:41 ammy head spinning right now, need a rest, this guide giving me a headache for 2 weeks to finds out da best way to install safely.........probably...... if u success, giv me credit by supporting mr angelictears in his works.

Thank you on the ungaze script, I've been looking it for ages now biggrin.gif
I myself have been testing it on my class 4 card and it gave me 2099 (avg) points in quadrant advance.
And great guide there you have, I would like to integrate your guide in my future documentation on future release soon, if you don't mind, and of course credit will be given to u. smile.gif

And I will try to implement some test on the mx player (or any other player similar) on system folder, I will try to also update the current codec capabilities to support 3rd party app such as mxplayer.

Hmm, you might have problem with the ROM manager installation, try and reflash using cm7 7.0.2.nb0 file as mentioned by terry@android above, you could find it on boston mania blog (although I don't encourage the site as it does not provide the source link and illegally mirrored downloads), the nb0 should have ROM manager preinstalled, if not you'll have no problem installing it as the latest ROM manager app support android 2.2 and above.
