Good day all LYN forumer. Ok actually this morning i was bringing my friend which from HK to Time Square for a quick shopping & she mention to me that she would like to buy some chocolate back to HK. So as for my memory there was a Beryl's Chocolate shop nearby Time Square area so decided to bring her to there. But once entering the shop it was quite suprising for me to saw the price range of the chocolate all mainly are from RM43.00 which just a pack of 420g. I was remember i once went to Sri Kembangan factory shop there the chocolate selling for the pack of 420g was just Rm14.50

So i was asking the 1 of the staffs at there. I was asking what's different of your chocolate with Sri kembangan outlet? She said nth different all are same & i ask politely y r the price is so much more expensive? Then the girls with a quite bad attitude answer me here are tourist place mar.. V do mat salleh business 1.. beside v need give those tour guide, tour agency & taxi driver commission for them to bring tourist come here.. thats y our chocolate more expensive lar.

Actually i have travel alot by myself too & i noe this was normal but the price almost triples the original price. I understand they need to mark up their price of their chocolate just to gain back their profit but triples it's like.. Haha too much. What you guys opinion?

imported chocolate is taxable. that's why so expensive here..For cheap chocolate - langkawi, Tioman & labuan is the best place. & not KL lor

But Beryl's choclate was local Made In Msia de wor.. That's y i was so suprising y it so expensive & i ask the staffs here memang is tourist place but also got local as well if local ppl like me come & buy oso that expensive? She said local ppl we give 30% discount 1.. Just show IC to us & we give u a special sticker 1..

They probably import those raw chocolate from oversea 1st kua?

BTW, you din bring your HK frens to the Beryll chocolate museum near Pasar Rakyat at the back of Jln Imbia & tun Razak..Most tourist go there wor.

Ohh.. i dun noe there got a beryl's chocolate museum 1 oh? There got sell chocolate 1 ah? Or just museum? She told me wanna buy some chocolate so i though near near bring her to there but dun noe so mahal pulak & at last i ask her dun buy kia liao.. If not she will become water fish liao..

That near to Pasar Seni is Museum come showroom & yes you can buy there..the concept is something similar to Selangor Pewter

berly's chocolate kingdom near imbi(the 1 behind pasar rakyat) there ? infront u saw a chinese restaurant usually crowded with many bus n taxi?
i last time work part time there be4, everyday eat free chocolate.
btw if u really wan buy from there, mention u r local at the cashier for small discount.

and i nv noe the seri kembang factory selling so cheap lol, im tempted to go liao

Yup it's that outlet..& do you know who is James?? They ask me refer to james if i have further complain.. actually i'm not complaining i just wanna check with them why their price can be triple the price of Sri Kembangan outlet.. It's kinda too much lor.. But dun the cashier shud know whether it's a local anot?

Yup u shud have a look at their sri kembangan outlets.. it's reli far more cheaper than the imbi 1. Haha.. yea i saw that cow too.. But dun u think it's kinda expensive too? But i think for the tourist it's nth 2 them.

james a, chubby mario alike uncle,mostly u can spot him around in the outlet (if still like 3 years ago lol), wearing formal 1 not like those staff with t-shirt
he manage everything of the outlet there la, but behind still got 1 big boss goyang kaki 1. the chinese restaurant beside berly oso own by that big boss

ya price actually quite exp la, but i like the tiramisu powder coating 1, dam gooding.

That is the problem with Malaysian. Just because the stuff made in Malaysia is has to be cheap. U should appreciate your own product like how other countries proud of their own product. Do u know Salabianca, Lewre also Malaysian product??

If u said Sri Kembangan is cheap then u shud bring your friend there. Berjaya Times Square rental is already expensive. Of course they want to make profit too. Somemore Berjaya Times Square is high traffic commercial area.

Disagree. I appreciate local products that are well-made. In comparison to other chocolate brands, Beryl's does not fall into that category and therefore deserves no appreciation.

Give them a chance to grow. Success does not comes overnite.

Ok you got your point.. but do they have to triple their price? Dun you feel they are taking advantage of those tourist? If you were the tourist & u realize that you been tot as water fish? Will u feel happy / angry? Sum more it's not at BTS it's at BTS area those shoplot.. how expensive the rental would be? & do you see MCD & KFC price r slightly expensive when their location is inside BTS? i brought Australian made cadbury at Cold Storage KLCC & it only cost RM19.90 for a block of it.. N Beryl's product yes it's good quality but if you really wanna promote our local Made in Msia product it's not a proper way of doin it.. Yes they might wan to make profit too but by charging triple?? I think it's a little bit too much. KFC & MCD are slightly expensive @ LCCT & KLIA but do they charge triple price?

Is this the same brand as in supermarkets? Is it the same chocolate in two shops, maybe one is selling the cheaper low cocoa butter, vegetable fat type of chocolate.

KFC & McD is a franchise business. Do u know how much is the cheapest rental in BTS?? RM20 K per month. In business, if you want convenience (no need to take taxi to go to Sri Kembangan) and within reach, you need to pay higher price. If there's a demand surely supply will be there too. Otherwise they have already close shop long time ago.

So, if the chocolate come from Australia meaning it has be to expensive?? Australia is one of the main producer for chocolate. Cadbury is UK brand but the price is not expensive also. Care to find out why??

Same point at here.. So if the shop is at nearby BTS area meaning it has to be expensive? I'm a KL people & yes i know how expensive the rental was & if you could complain how worse the GSC BTS service was y cant TS complain over for a chocolate? Plus did you really read TS post properly? TS was not complaining she just wanna make sure y the chocolate was far more expensive than the Sri Kembangan. As you always mention "That is the problem with Malaysian", "That is the problem with Malaysian", "That is the problem with Malaysian" & your last thread of complaining GSC BTS you mention msian always tolerance with such bad service & behaviour & as a consumer we have the right to voice out our complain & TS was just sharing some opinion. Even TS sit taxi all the way to Sri Kembangan + time + chocolate $$$ would it triple the price too? U can complain for a RM11 movie ticket over LYN & calling ppl useless.. but y cant TS voice out her bad experience with Berly's Imbi. Everyone have their right to voice out what they want.

This situation seems to be pretty normal. Luckily the one I use to like can only be found at the factory itself. None of the branches is selling.
