I downloaded FedoraCore4 already. Requires 5 CDs.
How do I burn as an Installation CD?

On Linux, if we already have the iso's, try cdrecord or cdrdao for the command driven interface, and I believe there are already many GUI based program in Linux to burn CDs, like X CD roast, Burn It...

Cheers!

I guess that file is an .ISO file, if it is you will need Nero then burn image to CD.

I doubt that there is Nero in Linux.

Anyway, the thread starter did not specify the platform where the iso resides on.

Browse the cd that you have burned and see wheter there's anything inside. If you see the iso file inside then you have burn the file incorrectly. There should be a few files and folders inside. You need to to use the burn disk image option instead of dragging and dropping the file into the empty disc.

Yes, you have to. Usually the first 3 discs will be used in a typical linux installlation. The programs are stored according to their popularity in the discs which means that disc 4 and 5 would probrably contain programs that you won't be using or know about.

Most people would just download the first 3 disc for most linux distributions(mandriva,debian,fedora....) since the rest of the programs can be downloaded directly after the initial installation.

my installation required all 4 discs.
1, 2 & 3 went well, but there was a problem with 4 (seems to be corrupted) and so had to abort (sheesh). now dl disc 4 again and burn again.

Well, make good use of the MD5 checksum that comes together with the *.iso.
Cheers!

It's for verifying the iso so that it match the original iso which was released by Redhat.

If any of the bytes has been change (i.e. corrupted/hacked), the md5 signature won't match.

Look for MD5 Checksum utility on Google. There are plenty of free utilities out there.

Just tell us the functions you need and I'm sure all of us here have something to suggest.

Merci.
