Samba, How to install and configure?

I'm running using fedora core 3. I want to remote my pc from windows xp. My friend said i must install samba to share it. So how to do it?? tell me detail.

remote the pc? what's that?
remotely access the pc? if this is the case, yeah, we do need samba. there's a gui for samba in fc3 nowadays. very straightforward. |

if u want to control ur pc ..the easiest way to admin it by using Www.webmin.com then u can control it by web interfaces..such as apache configuration..startup ..watsoeva.. or u juz on ur vnc server n access using vnc client...
but if u juz want to access the file...yes use samba..simplest way is go at konsole ..type "yum install samba" by u must login using root... bythe way..if not mistaken..fedora core 3 dont hav samba..(but u can install using yum) ..fedora core 3 use Common internet file system(CIFS) |
