tell you it is hard to determined that what or how much of your car? coz physically do not able to see your car? Anyway it is just a guide line.
Not an accurate price, however if we get it from Insurance company or the financial institute also not 100% accurate coz each different institute bank or insurance even car dealers have diff price.

just want to say even the accountant will say....let say every year i wil depreciate 10% the price also will not same or accurate.

Have to check by yrself! Hope can help you here.

the most important part is how much loan can the bank offer you for your car as most people would rather take full loan then paying a downpayment. call up the bank and ask the officer whats the maximum loan they can offer for your car.

websites like mudah can also give you a rough idea, but i find that there are a lot of fake ads. so don't rely 100%, you should probably take the average asking price instead of the lowest. The condition of the car also makes a huge difference obviously.

Added on February 1, 2011, 10:13 pmbank evaluation is quite consistent, its based on red book.

Is it i can simply call any bank that offer hire purchase & ask for market value for my current car?

My current situation is i got a year 2005 Gen2 that i wish to trade in to car dealer & the funny thing is each dealer try to offer price range between 17K-20K. Is it i will get higher trade in value if i sell my car according to the state of the number plate issued?

ask your insurance company, they insure the amount(price) of your car so they know the market price best.

Well this is a system from an Insurance company that can give you a place to take as a guide to check the sum insured or we will say as layman english Market value.

Also from their own statistic , base on claim experienced of this car !

Not saying this car have 26 k. Please do not being misunderstood.

You will ask yrself say fine since u said the m/value is like this ....i sell u this price. Will the car dealers will want to buy it?

Anyway he is right here while the m/v or s/i is higher then others insurance company.

It's the reference value for insurance sum assured. You can't expect the buyer/trade-in to give you the similar value.

The agreed value stated by motor insurance guides is over-inflated and designed to suck more cash (the premium payable) out of you. Here's my analysis:

The agreed value on their official insurance guideline for a 2004 Honda City I-DSI is RM36,000.

The non-negotiated average market value derived from a renowned used car portal (eg carlist.com.my) as at this time (based on 12 similar car model and year) is RM29,600.

When you sign on to any online portal eg etiqa takaful, you are asked to insure according to the insurance guideline which is @ RM36,000 or @ the lowest limit allowable of RM33,000.

So if you insist to insure at the "true market value" of RM29,600, your vehicle is deemed "under-insured". With that excuse, if the car gets stolen, you can claim only about 90% because you would have deemed to have voluntarily under-insured your vehicle by about 10%. I believe when it comes to actual compensation, as I have read in this forum, insurance companies will only offer you 70 to 80% of the market value even if you stayed with their official insurance guideline. In all circumstances, you end up the sore loser. You need them more than they need you!

Hi all,
Can i know where to check current market value for car? Any website?
Use this:

http://www.insuranceinfo.com.my/help_and_a...ntPrefLangID=1&

Always make sure your car value is based on the values provided by ISM ABI. ISM was conceptualized in 1998 by the General Insurance Association of Malaysia (PIAM) as the Malaysian Insurance Rating Organisation (MIRO) project

https://www.ism.net.my/

There are a number of insurance companies which over-value your cars to make you pay higher premiums. Allianz is one of them.
