DSL Status: Connected
DSL Modulation Mode: MultiMode
DSL Path Mode: Fast
Downstream Rate: 2336 kbps
Upstream Rate: 640 kbps
Downstream Margin: 2147483643 db
Upstream Margin: 8 db

Upstream Line Attenuation: 13.5 db
Downstream Transmit Power: 12 db
Upstream Transmit Power: 18 db

im on the 1Mbps package. just switched my modem/router to a linksys wag200g.
at first sync i was at 4000+kbps downstream.
then it kept losing sync and resyncing..
i also think theres a problem with my downstream margin.. it jumps quite largely with each sync. its now at 0db.

edit.
I changed the modulation mode to G.Lite and now my connection seems to be alright.
Is higher downstream/upstream margin better or lower better? not sure if its the same as SNR margin onot.
Heres my sync with the new settings

DSL Status: Connected
DSL Modulation Mode: G.lite
DSL Path Mode: Fast
Downstream Rate: 1152 kbps
Upstream Rate: 640 kbps

Upstream Margin: 7 db
Downstream Line Attenuation: 39 db
Upstream Line Attenuation: 12 db
Downstream Transmit Power: 12 db
Upstream Transmit Power: 15 db

i am syncing at lower speeds tho. and my ip address im getting is 218.111.xx.xxx range any problem with that?

Last time Tmnet had miscaped my connection to 512 per month. And after tons of complaint, they only move it back up, with no refunds at all.

Hey, I'm using a Riger DB102 modem. I'm also kinda new to this tech stuff. Just wanted to know if everything was alright with my connection, cause I've been having the same old complaints almost every other streamyx user has.... You know, frequent disconnections, slow net speed

I have problem with Streamyx because this is my first streamyx application to my house. The phone line is very old since 1980s never change. I doubt if streamyx ever flow through it because it is very old already.

I call the streamyx but they said its ok. The status on my taskbar always show that the icon blink at the same time meaning that whatever sent and receive of the signal seems to be from my own PC itself. It send and reflect back to my PC thats why blink at the same time.

I put all the correct DNS, IP addres, whatever configuration on my D-Link modem but the problem still persist.

Anyone can solve this kind of problem? please help

Ok not sure if this is the right place to ask but I'll ask anyway.
My housemate is thinking of our normal cable modem to a wireless modem.
I'm currently using the normal 1mb cable connection. If I switch my modem to a wireless modem, does that mean I can connect without any cables (like wifi)?
Or do I need to call Streamyx to tell them that I've changed to a wireless modem and let them configure stuffs on their side?
Or do I actually have to terminate my account and register for some wireless package that I hear Sreamyx are offering?

Its not that simple is it?

Yes you can connect without any cable, using wifi. No, you don't need to call streamyx or anything like that since its just a simple hardware change smile.gif . And no, you don't need to terminate or re register anything, just use the current subscribed package.

Don't forget to setup that wireless modem (if it has auto-connect function) and also don't forget to put some encryption so people aren't jacking your internet for free biggrin.gif .

Hell yeah. Thanks for the reply!
And another thing.. if the router is placed in the living room will I still be able to connect if I'm in my own room or in the toilet (with the doors and windows closed and all)? Or do I have to be in the living room near the router to be able to connect and get good connectivity?
Once I'm able to connect I also might need to set some speed limits to some of my jack ass buddies who likes to download at full speed.

Depends on the signal quality really. If its good then why not, give it a try. Some wireless router does have an excellent range so yeah, it is possible.

Do you WoW in toilet, all the time is it hehe biggrin.gif .

You can either QOS which limits the bandwidth for each mac address. How to do it I don't know them either since I have never used it before sweat.gif . Googling on how to do it (based on your router's brand & model) might help, good luck.
