I have one semi dead hard disk on my laptop, it temperature is kinda high and still, can operate normal, but the hdd heat also affect my cpu temp too, and the cpu fan is running like crazy, i wonder any compaq user have the same problem as mine, the hard disk is Westren Digital,

Do you enable System Restore and Virtual Memory? These service will intensify HDD usage and heat it up.

Do you use adaptive CPU power management? Enable it and monitor CPU speed if it throttles when not used.

The above should make lappie operation less heat generative.

I am wondering to get the HDD enclosure will really protect the HDD?

I have one UPS (has power surged I think)that connected to my computer but my HDD is still gone last Friday. I don't know whether it was due to power problem.

rounded cable is only applicable for ide cables.. sata cable is already neat and small, so no need to round them up.
from my experience, i got a lot of problems with the rounded cable when i'm still using ide hdd back then.. beli mahal2, with uv feature somemore la, but can only last for 3-4months doh.gif

example of rounded cable
