hurm...what the difference of linux shell, kernal and window x?

1st question..linux based on same kernel..n for GUI the also based the same gui from X.org..n they also based either KDE or Gnome or other...

for system requirement..if u r using Gui Based(like windows) atleast 233 mhz pentium processor..with graphics card n at least 256mb ram....actually 128 or 64 ram is okay..but for GUI..i recommend 256mb.

but..if u r using text based(like DOS) "sum peepz use this because they only make linux as server..so they dont need gui becauze they not attach monitor on it all the times"an 486 proccesor is ok but hey..at least 133 mhz lar...n for server...u need ram at least 256 mb i think..i mean i recommend 256

n ur 2nd quest...

urm..distro means ..the company that mengeluarkan (publish) linux...becoz of linux is free...everyone can compile linux and make a new linux then publish it..even ur self if u can... so there;s a lot company wanna distribute linux..datz is free..(eventhough linux is free sum linux distro need u to pay)..

but act..evry company sell a same product..juz a little bit ubah je...evry linux can use KDE or Gnome if suitable...is like Kedai Mamak Shareezma n Kedai Mamak Thaqwa ..its still kedai mamak..but wit differ name

Google , does not suck ram like OSX and Windows

its very nice..Linux works on all boxes , it does not care

For Text-Based distro , it just needs at least 4MB of RAM....and an old 68k processor even works

but for X-Window managers like KDE and GNOME , you need at least 128mb of ram (better yet 192MB ram)

so in theory its possible..but suse wants more ram
