Rules & Regulation » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Tournament Info Game Version: v6.67c Competition Method: 5 vs 5 Game Mode: Captain Mode (-cm) Tournament Structure: Single Elimination (BO1) Match Winner: The team that completely destroys the opponent’s Ancient or if the opponent Team surrenders Substitutions: One substitution players are allowed for each team. The substitute players are not allowed to play for other teams before/after in the course of the tournament. The match will begin with a coin toss. Winner of the coin toss will get to choose: Sentinel/Scourge side of the map or Draft order (1st/2nd pick) Loser of the coin toss will get to choose: The side that losses in the coin toss can choose the latter Game Play Hero Limitation: There is NO hero limitation or restriction whatsoever. Item Limitation: There is NO item limitation or restriction whatsoever. Backdoor: ALLOWED. Sharing: Sharing of item is allowed as long as the game permits. Gamers MOT allow to suicide to pass Rapier intentionally. Sharing control is allowed. Winning Condition: Completely destroy the tree or the throne of the opponents’ team Should any team choose to concede/surrender in the midst of the game, an auto win will be awarded to the other respective team. Should any accumulated 3 warnings in the course of the tournament, an auto win will be awarded to the other respective team. Should any unexpected of the game happens, the winner decision will be made by the head marshals of the tournament. General Rules Setup and Configuration: Teams will be given 5 minutes to warm up before the match starts. No non-standard game settings or third party applications that affect game play may be used. Teams being caught using either will be punished at the game marshal’s discretion. Replays of each match will be required by every team. In the event of a dispute, the tournament marshal may need to review a particular match replay. The result will be finalized if there no disputes 10 minutes after the game has ended. Participants of the tournament should be well-aware of the scheduled time slot of the tournament as teams can claim a default win for the match if the opposing team doesn’t show up for the match 15 minutes after the scheduled time. Personal Equipment: Players are encouraged to bring their own gaming equipment but will be required to provide the drivers on a thumb drive for installation if needed. The organizer will not be held responsible for any fault / damage arising to the installation. The organizer will not be responsible to provide full equipment to the participants. Disconnections & Save Game Process: Competing teams are advised to save their games as frequently depending on the necessity as the game progresses. Competing teams are advised to save after first blood or after any major battle in the progress of the game under the agreement of both competing teams. Competing teams must bear all responsibility in saving the game throughout the tournament. The game marshal/ organizer will not be responsible should any participating teams fails to obtain a save file should a PC error or crash occurs. In the event of any disconnection or technicality errors for the first 10 minutes of the game, the match will be restarted and both teams MUST pick the same heroes & proceed to same starting lane with default items as before. disconnection occurred. On initial creep contact, players may choose to switch lanes. In the event of any disconnection after 10 minutes of game play. The match will be reloaded from the saved game file. If there is any technical issues happen in the match, decisions could be varied depending on game time. 10 to 20 mins of Game Play The side with an advantage of 15 kills and above will be given the options of: Taking default win. Continue with the game without the disconnected hero. In the event of no advantage occurs in both teams, the match will be restarted with different hero lineups. 20 to 30 mins of Game Play The side with an advantage of 20 kills and above will be given the options of: Taking default win. Continue with the game without the disconnected hero. Respective teammates are NOT ALLOWED to use disconnected heroes and teams will not be allowed to transfer its items to other players. The items left by disconnected hero may not be sold. In the event a save file is lost after 20 minutes of game play. The game marshal holds all power pass verdict on who is the winner of the match depending on: QUOTE Each hero = 1 kill count Level 1 Tower = 2 kill count Level 2 Tower = 3 kill count Level 3 Tower = 4 kill count Level 4 Tower = 5 kill count Aegis = 1 kill count Barracks = 5 kill count Sportsmanship Conduct: Gamers must report to the respective game zone 10 minutes before the match. Participants who are late for more than 10 minutes will be disqualified. No dispute or whatsoever will be entertained. Abusive behaviour towards the organizer/game marshal/ opponent team will result in a warning. No foul language and abusive/racial behaviour will be tolerated in the course of the tournament. An individual is only allowed to play for 1 team ONLY throughout the course of the tournament. Bugs Exploitation: No Exploitation of any known old or new bug discovered during play. Explanations like "exploiting/activating the bug unknowingly", "we had no idea this bug existed" or similar excuses will not be entertained. Participants are required to update themselves with the latest competing tournament rules. The following rules are subject to modification in the following aspects: QUOTE Use of most recent patch/version release of each official game within Cybercafé organizing committee’s own discretion. Changes to in-game settings and options necessitated by the use of most recent patch version/release. Cheat Protection Program release and/or cheat protection functions. Game settings and/or operations guidelines dictated by differences between online and LAN Tournaments. Teams are responsible to check the rules on a regular basis and prior to every match to ensure they are in complete compliance. Teams must understand that rules listed are guidelines to ensure fair and competitive play and are subject to interpretation by the marshals based on the spirit of the game. MSI Malaysia took the initiative to organize this tournament in the effort of promoting national gaming community. Partnering with Money Online Malaysia (MOL) and sponsors such as Avira, Razer and Transcend, MSI Dota Tournament 2010 is born. The sincerity of MSI Malaysia and partners in promoting the gaming community is obvious as there was no charges of registration fee. On top of that, not only participants is given a treat of dinner, family members and supporters who attended the event is free to enjoy the dinner together. This big scale Dota Tournament consist of 12 qualifying rounds to the grand final in for different states such as Kuala Lumpur, Johor, Malacca, Penang and Selangor. Each qualifying rounds has 8 participating teams. The winning team of each qualifying round will be able to walk back with RM 500 prize money and MSI Gaming Mouse Pad + Avira Premium Security Suite. The tournament officially kicked-off in Friendster i-Café, Berjaya Time Square, Kuala Lumpur on the 13th August 2010. The Kuala Lumpur Qualifying Leg started in a cool afternoon where participating teams and supporters started to flock into Friendster i-Café at 1400. Each participating was given an Tournament T-Shirt and was requested to put them on during the competition. So no worries if you come to the tournament immediately after school with your school uniform on. MSI Dota Tournament 2010 started with Mr. Liven Liew, the Project Manager giving the opening speech follow by Mr. Redzuan Hashim, the IT Manager of Cyberview Sdn Bhd, the company masterminding the success of Cyberjaya. It is clear that there is a certain level of commitment from the government body to promote the gaming community in Malaysia such as nurturing gamers to venture into games developer and so on. Both setup was identical where the only difference between the setup was the mainboard. People are given the opportunity to experience the difference between an OverClocked System vs Default System in gaming. There was also a lucky draw took place for those who purchased any AMD 870 socket mainboard. Anyone who purchased the mentioned mainboard will get a key in their mainboard box. There were 6 mystery gifts to be unlock during that MSI Dota Tournament 2010 and anyone with the mentioned key were invited to unlock the mystery gifts. First of all there was a little dispute happened between the eventual champion, Team InC-NewComer and Team 1Team1Dream(e2). It was an intense game and a crowd puller match. In the beginning of the game, InC-NewComer seemed to be on the upper hand. However Team 1Team1Dream(e2) never gave out and managed to level the game play. In the middle of a critical gang fight where the outcome may result in victory, suddenly the game experienced lag/hang and eventually one of InC-NewComer's player got disconnected due to technical error from the host. At that point, both teams has equal chance to win the game. The game was immediately paused and there both teams started "discuss/suggest/discuss" solutions. Long story short, both teams agreed for rematch which InC-NewComer turned out to be the victorious team and moved on to grab the champion spot. Other than that, there was a young team which played to their 'heart' during their match. It was a very delightful moment to watch Team [S.W.T] played because they were the nosiest team among all. Even though the lost their match pretty badly but they seemed to enjoy the competition very much. Other teams as usual played very seriously and discussed tactics/strategies/decisions during real time competition. Another interesting sight is that there was a left handed player in Team GnR. It was actually my first time witnessing and left handed Dota player and it actually made my day. Participating teams getting their MSI T-Shirt for the event. Participating teams gathered for the Opening Ceremony. Team InC-NewComer. Team GnR. Team 1Team1Dream(e2). Team DK. Team M.M.A. Team Fa\|se. Team [S.W.T]. Team cWc.

According to their Team Captain, Goh "InC-Nc'Epyonz" Ching Hong, this is their first time playing together as a team competitively. And it turned out to be a 'promising affair' as they eventually grab the champion spot and qualified to the Grand Final. As for Team GnR, this is the first Dota Tournament they participated and it wasn't a disappointing effort after all. They finished as the 1st Runner-ups for this tournament. Team InC-NewComer - Scourge Ban: Necro'lic, Doom Bringer, Tidehunter, Morphling Pick: Drow Ranger, Earthshaker, Crystal Maiden, Shadow Fiend, Faerie Dragon Team GnR - Sentinel Ban: Alchemist, Storm Spirit, Gorgon, Slithereen Guard Pick: Demon Witch, Vengeful Spirit, Witch Doctor, Oblivion, Dwarven Sniper Team GnR vs Team InC-NewComer in the Final. Team InC-NewComer getting serious. Team GnR fighting until the end. The Champion and The 1st Runner-Ups. Team InC-NewComer took back RM 500 and prizes. Only qualifying to the Grand Final. They promised to minimized as much as possible any technical faults in the coming tournaments in Johor, Malacca Penang and Selangor. Participating Teams: DnF, U-Nex Gaming, waka, LeaP-Gaming, Angel, wakawaka, NetSurf.Ddz, K. On the 17th August 2010, the MSI Dota Tournament 2010 crews leave the office heading to Johor Bahru. The journey was smooth but it was a rainy whether. As the vehicle was loaded with the tournamenet materials, we drove slowly and after 6 hours journey we finally reached our destination. Firstly we headed to the organising Cyber Cafe, Blue Dolphin in Taman Universiti, Skudai to make a final check. Upon reaching there, we were welcomed with a very 'unfortunate' news from Mr. James Lee, the Blue Dolphin Cyber Cafe branch Manager. We were shown a notice from Tenaga Nasional Berhad that on 18th August 2010, supposedly the tournament day there will be inteference to the electricity in the area from 9:00 Am to 5:00 PM. Long story short, we decided to move the location of the tournament to the nearest sponsered Cyber Cafe which was the Blue Ocean in Nusajaya. Immediately participating teams were informed of the change. The Johor Bahru (Blue Ocean) Qualifying Leg started on time as the participating teams were punctual to register themselves in Blue Ocean. As usual, each participants was given an Tournament T-Shirt and Avira Internet Premium Suite together with a Avira Car Sticker in a Avira Eco-bag. This time, the MSI Dota Tournament 2010 started immediately after our Game Marshal, Mr. Zen Mok briefed. After the participating teams moved to their designated location and setup the PC with their own gaming gears, the tournament took off straight away. Blue Ocean Counter. Once again, both setups were identical where the only difference was the mainboard. People are given the opportunity to experience the difference between an OverClocked System vs Default System in gaming. But this time we tried something different. We cooled the OverClocked System with the Corsair H50 Hydro Series CPU Cooler. Also we changed the Memory to Transcend aXeRam OverClocking Ram. According to Team [LeaP-Gaming] Team Captain, Chong "[LeaP-DyN4sT-\|" Jian Sheng, the current roster consists of 3 existing team members combining with 2 team members from Team SWG. Both Loh "[LeaP]-XmX Wei Hong and Tan "[LeaP]-DiKuanTo" Zhong Kang from Team SWG joined force with Team [LeaP-Gaming] for this MSI Dota Tournament 2010. Team [LeaP-Gaming] has already been around for 1-2 years in Dota. Currently they are still looking for sponsors for their team. I believe for people who frequent plays in GCC Client is definitely familiar with the tag [LeaP]. They usually hang around in Clan War 1 (Malaysia) in GCC Client. As for Team NetSurf.DdZ, they are a newly sponsored team by NetSurf Cyber Cafe in Taman Molek led by Calvin "NetSurf-TTTiRA" Yong. This is their first time playing together competitively. Both Calvin "NetSurf-TTTiRA" Yong and Chris "NetSurf-RRRush" Ho were actually ex-Team NGL. They gathered together 3 days a week for traning. And finally, Team [LeaP-Gaming] managed to beat Team NetSurf.DdZ to grab the qualification to the Grand Final in Kuala Lumpur. Team [LeaP-Gaming] - Sentinal Pick: Necro'lic, Witch Doctor, Windrunner, Earth Shaker, Priestess of the Moon Team NetSurf.DdZ - Scourge Pick: Admiral, Tidehunter, Tinker, Vengeful Spirit, Shadow Fiend Team [LeaP-Gaming] in Final Showdown. Team NetSurf.DdZ cool and calm in Final Showdown. Left to Right: Simon "NetSurf-Shh!"
