I just fixed my VOIP.
The VOIP settings in Huawei BTU some how changed to another phone number.
Changed the number & password and its working.

You are right, I just went into the Huawei BTU, it's NOT my phone number
How could this happen??

Luckily I still keep a copy of my original backup file, just restore it and now it's working!

I'm having the same problem with the IP Phone. I'm not using the Huawei BTU. Its the while colored one with FTTH written on it.

Unifi support is useless. What do you guys do to fix it?

you're not alone, me and another few local subscribers here are fuming about this.. I've no idea if there is some malicious codes/users who're trying to play fool by getting into our BTU and start changing things .. grr...

Who sabotage our BTU? lol i didnt have the original backup.

I did the 615 but didnt do the BTU unit.

It happened as predicted because TM does not give a rats ass about basic security. I mentioned a few pages back that all BTUs are vulnerable to being accessed using the VOIP network since TM just dumped a default user/pass in all of them.

Before I was doing anything, I went to "Maintain -> Device -> Configure File" and download the original configuration file, now I just restore and the VOIP phone works again.

For those of you who didn't backup the copy, may be have to wait for TM to resolve the problem....
I would suggest once it's fix again, then go to backup a copy in case similar case happen again.

MY one just now also VOIP down, just set back the. I notice that when i start using 250GS with IPTV.

Well if we know if it is just only the phone number and the password prob, it shouldnt be hard to fix right?

I'm not too sure what they can achieve with your SIP login details as I don't use the technology much.. but causing a DoS on all 3 of your Unifi services is very easy just by accessing the BTU. They should not be able to use the BTU to break into your internal network as long as your router is secured properly.

I've just changed my Fiberhome admin login/pass and disabled its telnet daemon.. still figuring out how to write the changes to the startup config. I'd release a guide but many people will not be able to do it as it requires a Console cable. Do tell me if its possible to permanently secure the Huawei/Alcatel BTUs through the web UI though

Edit : The BTUs can only be accessed through the VOIP network AFAIK so if someone has changed your configuration (and it's not some glitch by TM), it's definitely being done by other Unifi users.

With sip login details, they can make calls using our numbers and TM is going to bill us..

Please advice how to protect the BTU ......

I don't think it's the RB250GS or any other routers because I was using without any problem.
Last week, I just off the RB250GS and thinking to keep it as backup and want to use the DIR-615 gao-gao ...
So I'm now connecting my WHR-G300N router on BTU LAN1 and the DIR-615 on BTU LAN2, no RB250GS and my VOIP was hijack ....

my BTU unit is inside my storeroom under my house staircase. had no choice because the fiber line comes out from the sewer inside there.

Having problems with my VOIP service at TTDI area . The BTU unit brand is 'fiboom' . Any solutions to this problem ? Thanks

I just fixed my VOIP. Some one is hacked into the Huawei GPON and change the phone number and my one it even add another new SIP entry. I check the telnet daemon and found out it was not turn on at all

Rizvanrp, I went through the Huawei GPON manual and I found out it support the OMCI（ONT Management and Control Interface) for TM to remote control the unit. That mean you no need the telnet daemon to be turn on but the TM still can alter your GPON setting. I suspect someone deploy this OMCI service in big scale and change most of our GPON setting. I don't think TM can restore all of them in one or two days time. If you know how to do it, better fix it yourself. Look like another newspaper headline!!

Fiberhome ONT's need a Console cable and RS232-USB adapter (if you don't have a serial port on your computer).. only then can you log into it and secure the router by changing the admin account pass, router 'enable' pass and disabling the telnet daemon.

With the huawei you should be able to do all of this through the webUI alone. This is what happens when you use the default user/pass combination for every single piece of hardware you setup. Maybe you guys can spam their hotline so they get the message

EDIT: Also, the telnet daemon is enabled by default on the Huawei. If it's disabled, someone has changed it.

I just emailed them over the weekend and a sales rep got back to me.. i asked them any indication of when the 250GS arriving because its currently out ofstock..

Bringing it over from SG.. doubt it will have tax because routers falls under computer items which is exempted from tax isnt it?

I seriously want this switch because the dir-615 is totally unreliable.

Has anyone encounter their dlink router died even when using it as a switch??

My Huawei GPON the Telnet Daemon for Lan is enable but for WAN is disable. If I am not wrong, the OMCI used difference daemon. I backup the config already. If happen again, I can restore it.

Thanks for the heads up I'll look into other potential daemons running on the BTU but it's going to be hard to determine the root cause of the problem as I'm using Fiboom/Fiberhome and most of you are using Huawei/Alcatel. If this is indeed the work of an individual and this person is accessing the network either by using the Huawei as a proxy or directly connecting himself via a VLAN bridge of sorts, the MAC address he's using will be directly visible to TM staff as it will be that of the BTU. Since MAC addresses of users are linked to individual units, they should be able to track him down easily unless he's using an unregistered piece of equipment (or is using another method I'm unaware of).

I simply don't have the tools to debug GPON links so most of this is going to be based on guesswork. If this guy has full access to the network there's nothing much you can do except backup/restore the running-config and attempt to lock down your router from remote access by changing the default username/passwords. FYI, the Huawei has two accounts.. both of which are a default user/pass combo and can be located by opening your config file in notepad.

There's really nothing much we as users can do about this except get TM to patch it up.
