I'm using a WD 80GB hd. I used PartitionMagic to create a new partition but instead created 2 accidentally. So I tried to merge both the 2 new partitons into a single partition but it fails.

Now, my old partiton becomes inactive and hidden. After toying around with a couple of times of merging and creating new partitions, even PartitionMagic could not load now. It states that the partition table could not be loaded. Any idea on what actually went wrong or how to solve this problem ? notworthy.gif

like above... try running the data recovery software... the whole table is lost, file locations are lost, got a chance that maybe some percentage of your files will be lost unless you do a raw recovery..

Is this R-studio DOS or Windows based ? Am trying to look for a DOS based one that can access and remove dynamic disks
QUOTE(mietechie @ Apr 25 2005, 12:34 PM)
Try use R-Studio for NTFS for data recovery (Support Dynamic DIsk)..

Use Knoppix LiveCD and run QtParted to fix the partition table. RTFM on howtos and good luck!

good.managed to reclaim back all the photos in my drive..somephotos i think its being resized...not sure..have to ask the owner. I'll try on some audio and video files and see if there are any issues.

Restoring 1800++ files took only 1-2 hours. Vid and audio i believe will take ages. The restoring rate is somewhere between 300-400KB per second. Well depends on your pc spec i believe.

Cheers.

cheenjeat: thanx

anyway, here's my share of stoopid maxtor drive

yes, i have a maxtor drive. it's an 80gb HDD that is used as a tertiary drive, seldom accessed, keeps all my manga (about 80% full) and suddenly, one fine farking day, the hdd master file table just got corrupted

that was 2 months ago. lucky that i was soooo lazy to re-format everything. i got the chance to recover 100.00% of my files, INTACT, and with ease in less than 2 hours (that's about 250,000+ individual files, mind you)

what software u say? it's none other than the full version STELLAR PHOENIX FAT & NTFS recovery software. works like a charm i tell you. however, ur gonna need another different hdd to store all recovered files (in my case, i have 3 different hdds)

Most data recovery software works properly with internal IDE interface, and do not usually work with external USB and/or Firewire drives. wink.gif

Refer to your thread here: Seagate EXT 2.5 HDD no Respond anymore~, Due to UN-Safety remove too many times. You can buy a 2.5 to 3.5 IDE adaptor to use it as an internal IDE drive on your desktop PC. cool.gif

Yeah dude.. Its my turn to be the victim today!

I dunno why, after doing some maintenance inside my casing, the ckhdsk blue screen is taking place everytime I boot up my pc at my E: drive

[ I have 2 160GB WD SATAII drives. 1 (2 partition, around 79GB each drive C and E) and the other 1 is 4 partition (39GB each) drive D,F,G,H ] - My WINDOWS file is in D drive..

However, Drive C is UNREADABLE and after being fully formatted in Windows, this error message appear.

user posted image

I lost ALL my videoclips in that drive, and I tried to recover it using File Scavenger.

user posted image

Question:
1. Is my drive corrupt?
2. How about warranty, is this problem covered?

Thanks for any help!
