well i have built and design some hifi speaker amplifier from class A class AB class AA and class B havent tried class D or class T yet. From my personal experience from listening test using my self made 3way speakers class A sounds the best. For me the THD figure does show abit on how good the system would sound to my ear althought some people would disagree on that. Currently i am using 70Watt vmosfet heavy bias class AB amp at 0.008% THD. I have yet to try nelson pass design so i don't know how it sounds yet but his designs doesn't really show good THD figures and seems exotic to me. i am thinking of trying to build his new Aleph J schematics

That's cool. Care to spam some images, schematics and pictures? This thread needs pimping. XD

looks legit. But the gain clone can be built easily with point to point. I don't see much reasons to spend extra on professional PCBs biggrin.gif

There is potential for hifipholics to build some amps and then sell to the enthusiasts. test the market first.

Class A amp, being inefficient, often require good heat dissipating material, renders it more expensive. On the other hand, the dynamic responsive, that the gates are on all the time, give it the the so called low harmonic distortion.

I wonder if any amp guys try the chinese made Xindak, Shanlin, opera consonance

Picture 2 weeks overdue, amp 8 months overdue hurr. Got time to build it a week before finals but lazy to post pics pulak doh.gif

Sanyo 2SC2344/2SA1011 from tomb. I also got 3 pairs of 2SC3422/2SA1359 for a JISBOS SOHA or Stacker 2 maybe. Based output transistor decisions on Steinchen's site. The adjectives used for default PPA MJE/BDE is not my liking. The result is better than I expected smile.gif

Hey bros.

Any of you here knows any good sounding Output complementary MOSFETS?

Kinda sick of Bipolars already. Damn positive thermal coefficient is a pain in the ass to stabilize.

There seems to be less variety compared to BJTs.

I just finish my low budget project Headbanger Headphone Amplifier today. Cost around RM30 only.
Recomm. for beginner like me. Output sound not bad and distortion around 0.2%.

The spec.

Noise: Inaudible in quiet room
Output Power: 375mW into 8-ohms
Input Impedance: 33Kohms, minimum
Running Time: 6-hours, est, high-cap NiCd, depending on audio level
Circuit Desc: Uses two LM386 power amp chips, 10-caps, 5-resistors.
Controls: Volume, On/Off switch
I/O's: Input pigtail, mini-phone out. DC power in.

that amp is almost a cmoy, just the IC used is particularly configured that way. Neways, photos of my PPA with cascoded diamond buffer output, biased to class A simply by cascode jfet and using M3 miller caps rail isolation. Not cased and external wiring belum complete. wait for hammond case and alps blue velvet. Sum par tbelum proper, one tantalum bigger than the others, ground channel caps satu hilang, the elna and the rubycon tem nyia since i haf used spare.

I wonder why i don't see many doing it. Price breaks and uniformity is too valued.

Nah, leftover parts, recycle maa, failed project. Neways, no RMAA but oscil out from 1212m > PPA > Agilent DSO out.

Seems clean enough, cept for the 10Hz signal. This oscil capture too much ET noise. Amplification is even, cant do sweep, later RMAA.
