my turn!

user posted image

nothing much has been changed except for wallie from deviantart and iChange winamp skin..  rclxm9.gif

Just wanna ask for some guidance...I've tried Samurize and somehow doesn't seem to work well on my notebook so I figured I'd try out Avedesk with SysStats plugin instead.

I'd like to display the following on my desktop:
1. The different partitions (via drive icons) I have on my notebook and show various info such as percentage used/free etc.
2. An icon to display the status of my notebook with info on name of system, uptime etc.
3. Info on system temperature such as CPU, HDD, GPU etc.

Wad other programs I might need to do all these? How do I configure SysStats to do all these? Anyone can help me out? Any simple tutorials to follow out there? I'd like to do something like what's shown in the wallie above (lower lefthand side corner)...Thanks guys!

Update: Just figured out how to do all above after reading the entire thread, Avedesk site, DockEX site carefully. Thanks anyway guys!

Cheers!

open avedesk control panel
desklets > add > pidlshortcut > my computer > add item
open desklet properties (or right click desklet)
shortcut tab > path > put path to folder/drive
icon tab > use cutom images > set image for 'Normal Image' (png is recommended)
*

I dont see pidlshortcut > my computer > in my control panel, why?
I downloaded pidlshortcut but it is an aveinst file.
What is aveinst and what programme needed to open it?

And, how to configure Sysstats?
Whever i ass sysstats from desklets > add , the new desklet appears do not shows any stat.

Who can assist me?

pidlshortcut is included as default with avedesk 1.3. If you install Avedesk correctly, you can just double click aveinst file and Avedesk will install it for you. You can also drag that file into Avedesk control panel.

As for sysstat, when you add it in Avedesk control panel, you should be able to load some of the pre-configured config.

Get them here: http://sysstats.jools.net/

that page does contain widget for avedesk, and most of them needs sysstats too.

the first page in this thread shows how to install sysstats in avedesk.
