Hi guys, Now, Intel i3 already available... but i cant find reviews and benchmark yet... (even at intel website dont have the spec) so, wat's the meaning of 2 core 4 thread's? How does it performs? Thanks p/s : with the info in my head i think it is, 2 real core + 2 virtual core.....

looking at these benchmark, i would say i3 530 is quite a good deal at RM445 (PC Zone).. hopefully this price will be lowered when it is officially launch in Jan,.

It means it has 2 Cores , aka its a dual core processor but each core has 2 threads (HT technology). It just makes it more efficient and it will behave like a C2Q !

well.. assuming that the benchmark is accurate, i'd have to bow to hyperthreading. it's neck and neck with a full fledge 4 physical cores.

QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Dec 24 2009, 04:20 PM) Is is possible for 1 core to have multiple threads? Yes its called HT. It has been possible since era of Pentium 4 . Currently at most it can support 2 threads. 1 core can have up to 2 threads , it can change , depending on how technology comes I think the q9550 series can still take it. Again its for benchmarks , if you notice its just few more fps or few more additional scores. quad cores really have 4 cores vs 2 cores with 2 threads.

I do know about HT Just wanted to know whether it's possible to have 2 or more threads per core. Won't having multiples threads increase the operating temp for the processor.I read about this somewhere last time.

QUOTE(secondrate @ Dec 24 2009, 05:49 PM) Same Is it i3 can be used on P55 mobo but the IGC will be disabled? i3 & i5 both using socket 1156.So yes P55 motherboards can be used. Why would the IGC be disabled with P55 motherboard?

I'm really missing something here. Anyway just asking. In case I want i3 instead of i5. Must see benchmark first.

My bad, after saw the different socket straight away went i3 already been available in PC Zone right?Nobody tried i yet? @syazwanreno You need to buy a dedicated graphic card then.
