Nono, i'm just asking so far according to my scenario and problems so far, is it safe assume that my the cause of my problems are software problem, not hardware right? No need to send back to the shop? As i'm not convenient to go there....

Thanks smile.gif

QUOTE(Axuel @ Nov 22 2009, 10:42 PM)
I'm backing up my files. Have to wait a while.

Btw, just to confirm, i can install the old driver and play games. But it just that i can't update to a new driver. So does this confirm that my card (Hardware) is working perfectly? Cuz i won't be around for a while. So by the time when i come back, it has already exceeded 7 days (1 on 1 warranty change v the shop has expired).

So i just want to confirm that is my card working perfectly and no need to send back to the shop? Only software problems ya?

Thanks in advance smile.gif

Dear All, I'm back! Been away for a while

Well, my problems still persists. I've tried to repair it, but still failed. Formatting i will try to put it back awhile cuz i plan to shift to win 7. But now i notice sth new, maybe this can give u all a new insight.

My problem of restarting at "ATI Catalyst Install Manager" still persists. However, when i install from the CD Version (3.0.745.0), everything is ok. But when i install the latest version that comes with the software suite/display drivers only (3.0.750.0) it straight away restart. Strangely enough, the 750 version does appear on my add/remove program. But when i repair it will go restart again.

Now i think it can be quite sure the main culprit is the 3.0.750 version install manager, the ATI CCC and display drivers SHOULD run fine if i manage to pass the install manager.

Thanks in advance smile.gif

I know its been almost a month since you got a reply to your problem but I have an idea.

I could be talking through my backside here but its possible that your Windows is the problem. Iinm, Windows has an application called Install Table Manager or something along those lines. In my experience, I've had multiple bad installations as a result of corruption of that application. Usually, I just uninstall both the failed installation and the corrupted application and reinstall it. Seem to work for me.
