hi, i recently bought a new olympus mju 1070 from foto miami a camera shop near digital mall.
when i bought it, i tested it out to see that it was working, but the shop is facing a busy road so it was quiet noisy and i couldn't hear any sound when i tested the camera. when i took it back and tried it out, there seemed to be a lot of sound coming out from it (something like krrrr krkk) whenever i turn it on and it actually goes on for sometime. i needed to use the camera urgently so i took it back to foto miami all the way to see if they could give me a new one. The sales girl who sold me the camera was not available, but there was another lady who was pure b****y and irresponsible as she said that whatever happens to the camera after they sell it is my business not hers (talk about after sales service). she told me to take it straight to olympus. i called up the next day and the girl who sold me the camera told me that she had already sent in the warranty card (is there such thing?) and that i have to send it to olympus SC. i went to olympus SC which is 1 hour away from where i lived. this guy davian came out and insisted that there was nothing wrong with my camera. however, the sifus at the other camera shops (i went to 3) told me the lens in the camera was loose and is what's causing the sound. my pictures are only clear when i put it on 12 mega pixel, which means that my file sizes are super huge. When i lower it to 5 mega pixels, the picture becomes very grainy. please tell me if there's something wrong with the camera or if it is normal for it to make such sounds? if not i really need to go talk to olympus. |

You sent it to Oly SC and they say nothing wrong with your camera... live with it. They are the pros, they know their products. the 3 guys from the other shops just don't want to look bad in front of you so they say your camera is faulty. 2. downsampling pictures will ALWAYS have an impact on the image quality. I believe your pictures are not grainy, more like heavy jpeg compression that's all. Normally pictures look the best at its native resolution... just keep your shots at 12MP and you'll be fine. |

thanks guys! is there no way i can keep my files small (as in like normal size of 1000 ~ 2000 kb) while maintaining sharpness? like no points giving me a bigger memory card oso..coz the pic files so big...its totally pointless.
