Only thing you can do is to fake/change your MAC address. http://download.cnet.com/SMAC-MAC-Address-...4-10536535.html

By changing the MAC addy, you can disclaim accessing the unit. You can't hide your MAC, there's no such thing. MAC/TCP has no security bound to them that enables obfuscation except for NAT which is theoretically a routing protocol not a security one.

What i do in public networks that i dont trust and don't want traces of me is to enable a virtual pc using VMWARE, MSVPC or Virtualbox where the the entire hardware/network is virtualized. I run a virtual router, e.g. vyatta or pfsense where the IP/MAC of the pfsense/vyatta is on a virtual device.

My physical machine routers (use as default gateway) through the virtual devices performing NAT, my PC at the back is completely hidden but my virtual instead is exposed. But who cares ...i just delete the VMs and that becomes completely non traceable.

[My computer physical] --NAT--> [My computer virtual] ---> Wifi --> Internet
