Suse ext2ext3,and reiserFS, help needed

Hi Experts,

I have been google around on which filesystem are more superior. I am using Suse and noticed it was using reiserFS as default filesystem. Somehow reiserFS are not much supported by other 3rd party restore application and it also don support system dump. The only benefit i see was the execution time are more faster in smaller size file. I tot the standard should be using ext3 as default? am i correct? Anyone have experiences on choosing ext3 and reiser? and why? Please advise. Thanks.

reiserfs & xfs should got better I/O performance compare to default ext3, but less supports by developer, for personal PC go ahead and enjoy but for corporate server no advisable. ext4 should stable down for next few month, it should better than older version of fs.

Suse default to reiserFS?! Are you sure? I've used 10.2, 10.3, 11.0 and 11.1 and they all default to ext3. 11.2 default to ext4. Ext3 / 4 will do just fine. No problem so far.

change it bro... im new to linux too.... but im doing fine with ext3... now i realised that in sabily 9.04 exists ext4... trying it out for this two days... so far so good....
