hi frens,

i would like to request advice from other members here.
is it normal for vios that after resetting the ecu, the idling will become low and unstable?
i tried to reset the ecu by disconnecting the negative wire and when turning on the engine again, then my idling suddenly became low and unstable.
After depressing the throttle for awhile, then it's back to normal.
Just now i tried again resetting the ecu and same thing happened.
I need to depress the throttle to correct the idling.

So is this normal for vios or soemething is wrong with my car? icon_question.gif
i'm driving vios 2006 btw.
Hope somebody can advice me here.. cry.gif

Your advice is highly appreciated..

Thank you very much.. icon_question.gif

after resetting the ecu, let ur engine idle for about 10mins... let it relearn set itself to proper idle rpm...

yeah..i already do that..
but after 10mins the idling still unstable..
so i pressed the throttle slowly until rpm around 3k and after that my idling back to normal.
i don't know whether this is the correct way or not.. huh.gif
thanks for your reply.. notworthy.gif

you have to give it time for the ecu to relearn... depends on cars... on my efi toyota...it would take roughly around 5 to 10 km before it would return to normal...

waja is the worse, seems to take forever for it to learn... crazily slow!

just want to refresh the ecu again..just like the factory setting back..
some may call it 'soft reset'..
we can say throw away the old memory and replace with new one..
nowadays our ecu are self learning.. blush.gif
correct me if i'm wrong.. icon_question.gif

the ECU programmed to "learn" owner driving mode after reset
pls dun be panic.just simply drive it as usual for 2-3 day the
mapping of ECU will finalize ur driving mode and stable.
got flash n rom inside the ecu curing n adjusting ur Fuel MAF ratio and idling issue as well.
in different rpm range.how much air n how much fuel and ignition timing as well.cause vios got many sensor.for input to ECU to calculate the best optimal fuel air ratio in different rpm range
