As stated above, the Inspiron 13 is good value for undemanding games. But considering your request for battery time and weight, I'd say you'll be hard pressed to get a more powerful system that fulfills all criterion.
*

But then if I just use it to surf the net instead of using it to play games (gaming eats up a lot of battery time that one I know) Like for usual microsoft+net usage it should be alright.... I guess? Unless the battery time is really that.. terrible... sad.gif

QUOTE(lee_what2004 @ Nov 4 2009, 03:43 PM)
inspiron 1320, no dvd-drive, weight at 1.8kg, with hd4330 ddr2 if you upgrade it. performance wise, good enough considering its 13''.
not sure how well hd4330 perform on games.
*

But then then processor is Intel® Core™ Duo P8700 (2.53GHz/1066MHz FSB/ 3MB) should be alright gua.. It can support Sims 3 so I guess it should be alright for other games? sweat.gif icon_question.gif very inexperience >< I used to choose laptops based on graphic quality..

battery life, user reporting around 3 hours++
for basic usage, even t4xxx and t6xxx is enough also.
its not the processor problem, since games usually depends on graphic card.

Any netbook can handle net surfing and word processing. And they provide better battery longevity to boot.

And one thing to always bear in mind. Never game with a notebook when you aren't plugged into a power source. Due to Intel's down-throttling of processors running on battery power, the performance you'll get is nothing short of a slide show.

But then hor one this I don't like about Dell laptop dvd drive is that there's 2 type of CD's right? the usual one we use and a smaller one with the smaller diameter. Last time my friend got Dell laptop I think is the Studio XPS 13 or another design with similar DVD drive.. it cannot receive the smaller CD one.. sad.gif Nowadays got CD reader's that are thin and light right? or do I still have to use Dell's brand for the DVD drive?

you mean the tray and slot type dvd-drive.

external dvd-drive got the thin type, just need usb power. no need for dell branded, any brand will work.

You mean the slot load DVD as opposed to the classic tray load?

Either way, if you get a Dell notebook, chances are you'll have to stick with whatever DVD drive they provide you with. After all, it's part and parcel of the overall chassis.

That's 'cause it's a CULV meant for maximizing battery time.
