Im intend to setup my ride Myvi by using DLS UP6 3-way system but hv a few question on setup.

1st im plan to run these component actively, but HU seems to be cant support up to 4 crossovers at the same time, so which crossovers should i run active and which1 should i use back its passives? And i wil using a 12" sub as well.

2nd question is : im using only Adams 80.4 4-channel amp and another standard 2 channel for subwoofer, wil it be enough to run these components..?

If possible i would like to ask sifus to guide me on these setup in detail, thx.

is your DLS passive single box or uses 2 separate boxes per side?

if its single box, will be easier:
p80 front hi pass for tweeter direct
p80 rear bandpass for passive, then to midrange and midbass
p80 sub out lowpass, direct to sub

I guess Sifu Zenn is rite, it comes with single box crossover to run these 3 components, but my tuner recommend me to run tweeter for active, midrange and bassmid running in passive by modify its crossover, then these monster 3-way will powered by a 4-channel amp. Perhaps my Adams 80.4 RMS/channel is enough to kick these components?

Changing a 4-way HU like P99 or HX-D2 wont come to any picture as im trying to utilize the used of my current P80 lo heheh... tongue.gif

dunno much about the amps... but if i am not wrong... the component set recommended is 100w rms... so i think should be ok... might loose out on the lower end spl from the mid...

and for the setup... if the tweets and midrange close together, i would use the passive for them both and bandpass the mid with the HU...

if they are not close together then midrange and mid use the passive connect to the bandpass channel and tweet high pass form the HU...

anyway... all these have to mix and match to see which ones suit it... so do play around a bit to get your prefer sound... angling as well...

cheers...

P80 3 way active front =
(i) highpass tweeter
(ii) band pass midbass (eg 63-3000hz) then in between use passive x-over from dls set to filter out midbass and midrange OR use amp active x-over to lp the midbass and hp the midrange
(iii) lowpass for sub

P80 is not as flexible as alpine active HU as the lowest hp value is 1000hz only where as alpine can go till 400hz. wink.gif

btw who is ur installer? golden? prolly we should meet up for yum cha. same to u too waihung... long time tarak nampak muka

Yupz, of course im not going to use any passive crossover since i bought it, but when choosing 3-way system + subwoofer, P80 won't be able to run these 4 systems actively which means one of them gona use passive, for me im not kinda like a lot of equipment for my ICE as im trying to build it as clean, simple, and with a gud SQ system..

Using a 2-way HU to go 3-way the best is use back its passive on tweeter and midrange.

^Going semi active is a big headache as alot of trial & error involved. If you are not acc shop, you will waste alot of money getting the passive components.
