Personal equipment
Modem: Billion 5112s
Router: TL-WR542G
Firewall used: None

Problem details
First occurence of problem: Recently.

Problem description:

Very strange problem here. Router and modem as above. I have connected a PC via LAN cable to the router. Thing is, connection is fine (no errors). I can surf but internet is extremely slow. Tried connecting to Router from this PC, also very slow. Google loads very slowly, other websites don't load at all.

This only seems to be for the lan cable connection. If I connected using wireless (e.g. my laptop) - no problem, everything at full speed. Same if I use that PC and connect directly to the modem - full speed.

Any ideas as to what might be the problem?

Possibly your lan port on ur pc will go 'kaput'.Experienced it before.Be prepared to buy a new one for 15-20 bucks~ sweat.gif

what do you mean by "slow". to identify, first you must do a ping.

ping a router. you should get < 1ms. if more than that, something problem with the cable.

ping the website. if timeout, find another website, because that website blocking ping request.

do that ping using your different network setup, ie. direct connect, via router and so on.

after get the result, comeback here and post the result.

Test to use other network cable, also test to connect to other network port on router. Check network adapter driver too, check whether it works well.
