change the wireless router ip first. change it to 192.168.1.10 (u free to choose any number, actually, like 192.168.1.25 or else)... this means only connect ur wireless router, not ur modem..

this is because ur modem already take the 192.168.1.1 one..

after that, u can connect back ur modem to ur pc...

192.168.2.1 makes no difference. When I connect just the DSL Modem and try 192.168.1.1 then I can access the admin page. But with the router connected, I can't.

if i go Command prompt and type Ipconfig what am I supposed to get?

Mine is (with router connected):

Ethernet adapted Network Bridge:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix :
Aucoconfiguration IP Address : 169.254.78.150
Subnet Mask : 255.255.0.0
Default Gateway :

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:

Connection-specific DNS Suffix :
IP Address : 0.0.0.0
Subnet Mask : 0.0.0.0
Default Gateway :

just connect ur router 1st, no need connect modem... enter 192.168.1.1 then the admin page will show.. usually user = admin , password = admin

then go to Router IP config, must be the one with number 192.168.1.1... change it to ur liking or 192.168.1.10 (my suggestion)..

save & reboot router..

I'm using XP S1. Could that be an issue?

Probably I'll try to test the router on a different pc/laptop.
