Sony A850 & A900 do not have in-body wireless commander. Both of these need the F20 to act as the commander to trigger flash wirelessly.

Yet another blind poster?
I never compare 7D and A550, i just give example of built-in flash dslr.  doh.gif

The wireless flash function on A550 is really nothing to shout about.

A550 with in-body wireless capability COMPARED to 500D .... for some people who do wireless flash photography, is SOMETHING TO SHOUT ABOUT ... drool.gif tongue.gif biggrin.gif
but of course some people do not ever use wireless flash ... of course la dont need to shout unsure.gif biggrin.gif

SONY pop up flash can trigger most of the SONY external flash, ie F36, F42, F56, F58. But controlling the output, I think cannot la..
But A700/A850/A900 with F58 as commander can control other flash using the ratio thinggy i think..
not sure.. for A550.

Sony wireless flash can trigger multiple sony flash at once, you can control each power using manual mode(on the flash setting).

Tried during FOC Sony Flash Seminar.

Btw,
My advice the DSLR brand will effect your future upgrade. U can upgrade lens or body anytime but not easy to change to other brand system.

A lot of consideration need to take note. How serious u are in DSLR?
Canon got lots of cheap TO expensive lens, accessories, more 2nd hand item got more fren to exchange lens / sharing.
Sony only have cheap OR expensive lens, less ppl own it, hard to find 3rd party accessories.

I have limited budget and not planning on much upgrade although I am serious on photography.
So far i am proud of using A300 twin kit lens because it's low price with better spec and good performance depend how u maximize it smile.gif
