Now I'm online on Xubuntu 9.10 Live USB.

Boot faster and load faster.

All drivers work out of the box on Aspire 4520 except webcam (not tested yet maybe just need luvcview as usual)

Pidgin is still available on Xubuntu 9.10

Wireless LED indicator works like in Windows.

Added on October 31, 2009, 12:48 amBTW, Xubuntu is on Xfce 4.6.1

Actually it is the Samba that make Ubuntu file/folder sharing work with Windows machine.
This 9.10 make Samba work out of box without need any configuration ... :-)

HP all-in-one 1210. It's an old model. But don't worry, most of HP printers are supported if not all.

Have to do fresh install because the upgrade f**k up again (same thing happened when upgrading from version 8.** to 9.04).

Spend half day to get everything back to order - install programs, install Firefox addons, Xmarks to sync back my bookmarks and etc ...

It is like nightmare but worth it - 9.10 is better.

Good :-

1) Statup and shutdown are really fast !!!
2) new improved Gnome
3) new wallpapers
4) Samba finally works, I can see my Windows machine share folder/file !!!

Bad:-
1) Where is "Pidgin"?
2) Where are those cool screensaver that I likes :-(

couldnt boot with usb using my netbook dell inspiron 1210

CODE

gave up waiting for root device. common problems:
- boot args (cat /proc/cmdline)
- check rootdelay = (did the system wait long enough?)
- check root = (did the system wait for the right device?)
- missing modules (cat /proc/modules; ls /dev)
ALERT! does not exist. dropping to a shell!

i used the usb creater for the ubuntu netbook remix, cannot
used the unetbootin-windows-377 to load UNR and standard, both also fail.

another type of error:
CODE

mount: mounting /dev/loop0 on //filesystem.squashfs failed: invalid argument
can not mount /dev/loop0 (/cdrom/casper/filesystem.squashfs) on //filesystem.squashfs

current os = win 7 RC
