to show off? one of the reasons but not the main reason. the main reason is that linux runs much smoother and faster on my crappy laptop as compared to windows. apps are open source and great. and there are much less viruses threatening linux comps hence probably better security

1 main problem for me using ubuntu 9.10 is regarding the network manager. when i tried the live cd it shows inside the menu to connect to my celcom broadband. but after i installed it, the network manager cannot show the mobile broadband connection in the menu. anybody else having this problem? my only connection to the internet is the celcom broadband so without this, it's practically useless for me to use 9.10 ><

ive done that but there are well somehow some error will come up and ruby is still not enabled on my lamp server.. tried it on wamp on windows but failed to install properly too thats why i moved to linux >.<

did it work after you reboot? maybe the fc-cache -fv didn't take effect until you reboot.

i having problem playing 1080p *.mp4 content on Totem Player....already installed gstreamer and all respective driver....i'm using laptop hp dv2 with below config
AMD Athlon Neo X2 1.6GHz,
2Gb of Ram,
ATI 3140HD 512 of RAM
anybody got a solution?
