Broadband provider
ISP/package: Maxis 3g Broadband (I get my own 3g dongle)
Location: Kajang
Have you called your ISP's helpline?: No

Personal equipment
Modem: ZTE MF627 (unlocked)
Router: n/a
Firewall used: n/a

Problem details
First occurence of problem: From start, when I first installed the 3g dongle
Problem frequency: Did not manage to get a connection better than EDGE
Problem description: I unlocked the ZTE MF627 (comes from 3 in the UK) by upgrading the firmware found at
http://www.zte.com.au/main/Product_Downloa...6_downloads.htm
I then used the connection manager at the same page in order to add my new connection.

I have put
APN: maxisbb
Username: maxis
Password: wap

The connection manager reports that when I get a connection, the best I get is EDGE and the quality of browsing is quite bad.
I am able to connect from my computer with my Nokia phone (supports 3g up to 384Kbps), and the browsing speed is quite reasonable.

Is there a settings issue?
