hmm....blowhole ka?

well, I'll see how it goes...

Anyway, for some updates... biggrin.gif

This will be the front intake filter.

Consist of filter base, filter cover, the filter element and the filter mesh itself.

Chose this as it was thin enough to fit in-between the chassis and the cover.

I did the cable extension for the HD Audio front connectors, by cutting and resoldering the wires. Sleeve shrinks were used extensively. Also,
thin aluminium foils were used to wrap up the wires before sleeving, so as to screen the wires, as per original cabling.

The mobo was put in and routing of the cablings commenced...

Soundcard and HDD went in...

While I was fixing up the PC, my daughter was playing her puzzles. She decided to take time off and joined in the photo shoot... icon_rolleyes.gif

The CCF and the 4850 went in snugly. biggrin.gif PSU cablings with the connectors/sockets which were not used, were wrapped up with filter material
and cable-tied to prevent them from touching the chassis.
user posted image
The basic build of the PC was completed and ready for testing and "running in" nod.gif

That's all for now. The system's running in right now, temps and fine-tuning are in progress....

The next stage will involve fabricating a graphic card cooler and some home-made "aeroslots"...hopefully soon. "Blue print" for the gfx cooler is on the way... tongue.gif

can also use normal spray paint, but it may easily kena scratch and come off. those spray cans which cost more, are usually, better quality, hence not so easy to get scratches...but still can get la...

for aluminium surfaces, it's better to sand it using higher grit sandpapers, so as to "roughfen" the surface, but not actually scratch it...then primer it. after that, can paint whatever colour u desire... nod.gif

also, better still if you can read up those links, advices that others have posted up...like here : http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/32579

if you got friends who are working as car painter, or similar...better still... icon_rolleyes.gif

full black for the interior seems to be quite nice... thumbup.gif

it'll also camouflage and/or hide cables/wirings... biggrin.gif

confirm got air pass through the filter, as the filter is designed to filter out most of the dust particles...of course without filter, the intake air will be stronger compared to with filter...

for 32bit OSs, the Os would only display 3Gb or 3.5Gb of rams available, depending on ur system...

mine shows 3Gb... sad.gif

have a look at this... http://www.ocmodshop.com/ocmodshop.aspx?a=989&p=2414

best way to get your full rams is to use 64-bit OS.

derrick, a very tempting garang mobo and super looking rig you got there man. I think you shuld go for 64bit as it can read all your ram. Nothing to be worry as you got a big capacity hdd to cater those x86 emulated software. As long you are not using any ancient devices that need 32bit driver than 64bit os is a good choice.

yeah, did the cutting and holes on the mobo...had to strip the case all the way to bare chassis...then I used hole saw to cut out those holes...

did most of the stuff either at my workplace after work, or at my friend's car workshop, as I did not have proper equipment at home... blush.gif

I have to agree that cable management would be difficult, without those holes around the mobo tray. I "copied" the mobo holes look from the corsair obsidian...

unfortunately, I did not put rubber surround on the holes, but I managed to sand and file the holes to smoothen the edges...

as for doing for other ppl, well, I don't have proper tools, so I had to do things after work hours, and would go into late hours....so family life will be affected...

very sorry for this... notworthy.gif notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

I'm sure there are modders out there, like uncle ianho, and others, who got proper tools, can assist...me...I had to borrow other ppls tools....so sad... doh.gif doh.gif

yes sir...

however, need to check if the holes have thread or not...as most hole meant for rivetting are slightly bigger in diameter...hence not allowing the hole to be treaded...

so may have to use self-clinching nuts as well....
