since the HUAWEI E1762 is pretty recent hardware, you might need to wait for sometime before kernel module is updated in repo. otherwise, you might want to look around and compile for yourself. or try karmic. (if your hardware is detected, treat it the same as dial up. open kppp(on kde) and put your detail inside). happy surfing.
