Tested just now.. realize that the camera problem doesn't occur when there's ample lighting ... seems like white balancing problem.

Does that mean your phone has the camera problem?

no I am not working nearby. I mentioned before that I worked for pda expert before.

yeah i just got my unit. the pinkish spot does appear on my hd2, and my ROM number is the newer one (1.48.707.2)

realized that the lighting does contribute to the pink discoloration. when there's adequate light, its not noticeable. hopefully it is a software issue like HTC announced, coz if it's hardware, its gonna be a hassle getting it fixed.

but other than that, it's a really awesome device. the integration between htc sense and things like email, twitter and facebook is really cool, and seems to be working very well. Opera has been acting up a bit, but on the whole the internet browsing experience is good. Now, if only the camera issue was fixed...

I think its the same at the shops everywhere now. Salesgirl told me that they usually sell RRP until they decide to do promo with freebies - which is unlikely for new phone like HD2. Told them if they start giving freebies, I'll come back to claim. Hahaha.

It's RM 2899. Box includes standard charger and headphones . Leather case and 8GB Micro SD. The new standard is 2 years SIS Malaysia warranty. So that's good. No screen protector - I guess cos it's capacitive touchscreen. I heard it's less sensitive if you put screen protector on capacitive screen.

the pink tint also appeared on my hd2 but I dun think it is too big of an issue. I m using it to post here and the web browsing is by far the best. the large screen does all the job and the keyboard is working like a gem. so responsive and it is selling like hotcakes here.

however the camera issue was confirmed to be a software related issue so I hope that HTC will come out with a good solutionon this problem

The pink color will be there if you purposely "look" for it, but under normal circumstances, it's not visible.

still not perfect.

I am afraid that no phone is perfect.
gosh.I am currently using both messenger ,ie and opera and yet the device.is.still.running smoothly.

uhoh... i got slowdowns in the OS... but i guess thats me running all those apps in the background and not closing them.. lol..

now carrying 3 phones around... sigh~~ damn inconvenient..
