QUOTE(King83 @ Oct 23 2009, 11:03 AM) No online(full game will have online support), only versus AI. The controls are really different from the Tenkaichi series so getting used to is required. They don't tell you which button is which so we have to figure things out ourselves. Also the gameplay seems faster than BT3 as well. The characters in the demo are Goku(Normal,SSJ), Piccolo and Raditz. This post has been edited by heavendevil: Oct 23 2009, 11:13 AM |

yes... all basic attack and special moves also stronger...
of course, this also allows u to access certain more powerful moves not available in other forms. in budokai:another road... Piccolo is TOP TIER thanks to his amazing reach... and ridiculous combo linking... not sure about this one. |

QUOTE(King83 @ Oct 23 2009, 11:06 AM) there was one time goku also trained to not get out of super saiyan mode wat in the comics... can't remember the timeline, prolly before fighting cell/no17/no18 A little incorrect. He and Gohan trained to get used to being in SSJ mode without feeling anger and intensity. As in they got used to being SSJ mode as if it were their normal form, almost like the hair color is just dyed and nothing's changed (obviously other things like their power level is much higher than being in just normal form). It was before fighting perfect Cell. Added on October 23, 2009, 12:18 pm QUOTE(vorchiel @ Oct 23 2009, 11:07 AM) They putting me in the game as a special unlockable character where you can only play if you put the disc upside down into your PS3 and also platinum it that way. It isn't an easy unlock. Ask SPIKE why they'd do that. QUOTE(King83 @ Oct 23 2009, 11:07 AM) Oi.... but Roshi and ChiChi is only human. But can win anyone else!!! QUOTE(5zal06 @ Oct 23 2009, 11:09 AM) Basically it is SSJ1. However, a little different. There is a gap between SSJ and SSJ2. That gap being USSJ (ultimate SSJ), which is what Brolly is in its form. Vegeta and Trunks got it first (which is canon), but Vegeta innitially realised that being so bulky would impede his movements. So he didn't go fully USSJ when he fought with imperfect Cell (the 2nd Cell form), instead just going half way and calling himself Super Vegeta (he's... a prince after all, Trunks of course did not realize that until Cell showed him why USSJ form is utterly useless. In a battle, strength is important but speed is critical. Especially in the world of DBZ. Goku also realized that when in the HPTC (hyperbolic time chamber, stupid name I know) room, then he just made the decision to train ultimately in SSJ form only. Not only does his speed isn't compromised, he will get almost the full power potential of a USSJ. Gohan of course went beyond that, SSJ2 it is. QUOTE(300078 @ Oct 23 2009, 11:20 AM) i want to know.... wat different in the SSJ1-3 in the game? Dmg more strong? Or just hairstyle? Sry i nvr play any Dragon ball game except those 2D one back on SNES. Damage remains almost the same really, a slight bit improvement but nothing much. You do get more innitial KI of course, and if in story sequences you'd get more health most of the time if the developers don't change anything. Biggest difference is you get to use the moves that are only used in that said form. Like Goku's dragon punch which he only did in SSJ3 (although not canon, but Toriyama did certify it) can only be done in SSJ3. QUOTE(King83 @ Oct 23 2009, 11:32 AM) in budokai:another road... Piccolo is TOP TIER thanks to his amazing reach... and ridiculous combo linking... not sure about this one. Too bad this is Budokai Tenkaichi. Piccolo was never even top tier. His speed was slow, damage subpar, and his moves aren't really that well diverse. When asked why, SPIKE says they just wanted to follow the manga. Then they will be lots of balance problem too. in budokai 2, you transform depending on your ki bar... 3 ki bar = SSJ 4 ki bar = SSJ2 5 ki bar = SSJ3 then they removed it in another road, once transform, terus transform to the max SSJ which i didn't find too fun. Not sure about this game. |

For other saiyans, maybe.
It isn't revealed yet if the characters would have how many innitial ki bars from the get go with the form they're in. But for Goku... you can only use Genki-Dama (spirit bomb) in his normal form. Other form would simply be the dragon punch, or warp kamehameha. |

Sry i nvr play any Dragon ball game except those 2D one back on SNES. In the Tenkaichi games. A higher form will always hit faster and is able to land more hits thus does more damage. Goku for instance, his normal state will have a 5 hit combo when you press punch 5 times. His Super Saiyan state will have like 6-7 hits with the same amount of times the button is pressed and Super Saiyan 2 will have more hits and so on and so forth. In this game, players can customize their own super moves based on that character's state which means you can change which moves you want for your character. Of course that move will have to be usable to that character(e.g. Spirit Bomb can't be used by SS Goku). In order to overcome that they remained constantly in SS so that the fatigue can be reduced to minimal and the power and speed of SS can be in optimal form. This happened during the 10 days before the Cell Games. This post has been edited by heavendevil: Oct 23 2009, 01:26 PM |

Beam struggles are always a prominent feature in any DB game so this one is no exception.

US PSN.
The demo blows big time. So half-assed that I nearly laughed my ass off. Come on, WHY in the world did they even restict people from going into the options menu? What stupid logic is that? I can't even use the old controls from the PS2 games but instead have to adopt to new controls? Wait.... wait there. How can the game not even SHOW the controls beforehand in a loading screen, expecting people to figure what is what in the process of playing. And finally, Raditz being one of the three characters? Its like the devs just say: ahh to heck with it... lets just the people play raditz. Thank you for pissing off a DBZ fan. |
