Is Indigo Child real?

Characteristics
QUOTE
Descriptions of indigo children include the belief that they are empathetic, curious, possess a clear sense of self-definition and purpose, strong-willed, independent, often seen by friends or family as weird and have a strong interest in God from early childhood. Indigo children have also been described as having a strong feeling of entitlement, or "deserving to be here." Other alleged traits include a high intelligence quotient, an inherent intuitive ability, and resistance to authority. According to Tober and Carroll, indigo children function poorly in conventional schools due to their rejection of authority, being smarter than their teachers and a lack of response to guilt-, fear- or manipulation-based discipline.

According to research psychologist Russell Barkley, the New Age movement has yet to produce empirical evidence of the existence of indigo children and the 17 traits most commonly attributed to them were akin to the Forer effect; so vague they could describe nearly anyone. There is also concern that labeling a disruptive child an "indigo" may delay proper diagnosis and treatment that may help the child. Others have stated that many of the traits of indigo children could be more prosaically interpreted as simple arrogance and selfish individualism, which parents with certain New Age beliefs see as being something that they are not.

XD in a way it's true. Talented/popular/famous kids didn't really have a good childhood (As far as the ones I know).
Michael Jackson didn't have a good childhood.
Lindsay Lohan are rather affected so much so she's sort of distorted now @_@
Even the math prodigy in our country (what's her name again..?) is....
oh well.. :/

These children suffer more because they are different compare to normal kids with average IQ.
And the children suffers more when they go for average education study... hmm.gif

However, with proper parenting guide, they may become an awesome person to create new invention that might possibly revolutionize mankind history

Of which the parents themselves must be smart no?
Which I ponder as well, could these gifted children inherited some genius genes from their parents?

Very true. The most unique, gifted and/or otherwise special people in the world will always be somewhat distant from society. Society does not accept what is different, instead it chooses to ostracize it. How very sad to see, when some may potentially be able to contribute great things to society given the right conditions.

Or mayb during childhood...that gifted child cant really mix with other normal children although same age cause he might think playing those "games"[like hide n seek and etc] is wasting time and so-not-mature >_<
