QUOTE(hasribus @ Oct 11 2009, 02:10 AM) haha..u know what?! the internet service is down...i just called careline and they confirmed it! So mine is also useless for tonite! Oh well, Celcom boleh! How can they afford to have the Internet service down when it is the launch of a new product they've been promoting so hard? Imagine how many new users of the BlackBerry from the launch and they probably must be thinking that BlackBerry is not good as they aren't able to get online when the fact is that the Internet service is down on Celcom's side. |

QUOTE(hello9988 @ Oct 11 2009, 01:54 AM) my goodness!!!!...tat's so unfair to sarawakian...sighh~~~ if RM998 + Rm 50.00 = Rm 1048.00..about the price of E71.. yea, did chck out the website...it is now RM998...and MUST include another RM50.00 top-up.... u are right! RM998 excludes RM50 top up. I paid RM888 + RM50 = RM938. Very unfair to those outside KL....but then again still better than buying at full RRP and also better than Hotlink offer. |

Then again, the beauty of a BIS can never be compared to the Internet experience with an E71. Yes the E71 is a great phone but the range is different and you'll know the difference with a BlackBerry when you use one. |

Yes the E71 is a great phone but the range is different and you'll know the difference with a BlackBerry when you use one. Spot on bro! I'm a current E71 user...the reason I got this blackberry is bcoz E71 unable to meet my needs on email. I bought Emoze Pro for RM50 (1 year license) for push email function on my E71 but E71's native email client sucks big time. 1) When I compose email, the unnecessary lines will be there and it tends to appear between the words and letters. 2) 2 names/addresses cannot be at the "To"...the send option will not appear. Must move one to the "CC"....then only the email can be sent. 3) Unable to display large html email correctly. Apart from that, applications for 3rd party software like twitter and facebook is very hard to find...esp the free ones. Nevertheless, I might still need to keep my E71 coz BB8520 got no GPS. I called up a shop listed in Lelong.com that specialises in selling PDA phones, they are offering to take my E71 for only RM450...I bought it 5 months back at RM1350. On the other hand I'm also considering to sell it...is RM750 reasonable? Avaxx set, 5 months, very well taken care off (almost no scratches), Garmin installed plus 11 1/2 months license for Emoze Pro. (I'm not advertising...just trying to get feedback on the price of second hand set). |

Lack of GPS is one downside of the Curve 8520 but at least there's still Google Maps to make up for it so still not too bad. |

It is very user friendly for thing that are minor but important like U can copy and paste basically at any apps. E71 cant do that! 2) U can add as many "To" U like in BB email. 3) So far didnt encounter such problem on large html. All my email are readable There is a lot of twitter app that are free for BB: twitterberry, ubertwitter and etc. Facebook are support natively. For Symbian, the twitter app that worth mention is Gravity. But it is a paid app. For GPS, GarminMobile XT support on symbian is far superior compare to BB. That is why I still keeping 1 symbian phone for GPS purposes. U can resell yr E71 around RM800 or more. The shop that offer u such low pirce is just a RIP OFF!! If email is yr concern, BB is still the best. |

device price wise i think celcom's offer is cheaper @ RM998..however, the packages offered by celcom is a bit of a letdown....i mean the RM1/days solely for social networking + IM....if you round that up to a monthly basis it'll be Rm30/month while maxis is just RM28/month for the same services...
and maxis has the other option which is RM28/month for email + IM which kindda suits my needs of having a blackberry. celcom's other package @ RM2.50/day would cost RM75/month which is cheaper than maxis RM98 but maxis is operating @ EDGE speed while celcom is limited to 128 kbps/sec...but on the plus side celcom's cap is 1Gb/day while maxis is 1.5 Gb/month! btw, are we getting any BIS email account with any of the packages be it celcom or maxis? and anybody know how the 2 packages on celcom works? i mean it's stated in the T&C that it's on auto renewal on a daily basis...how do we switch between the 2? |

The cap wouldn't make much difference as when the data goes through the BIS server, it gets compressed so your usage will be quite low. Not too sure for Maxis but yes you'll get an e-mail account with Celcom. Both has its pros and cons so at the end of the day, it is up to you to decide which suits you best. |

![]() i prefer xpax blackberry, because rm1/day (social) or rm2.50/day (BIS) is optional (athough it is auto renew, but we can cancel it at anytime).. so i can subscribe only when needed. rm998 plus no upfront payment.. hehe This post has been edited by epool86: Oct 11 2009, 07:15 PM |

RM1 daily is for social usage only so it only covers usage such as Facebook and native instant messaging apps by BlackBerry, other usage will charged. The RM2.50 per day is for everything so do whatever you like. |
