Wanna try out the BB unit If you're currently xpax user, they'll ask your number for sure. If you're new user, they'll ask you to register with xpax They will set your number so it can accept BB service (BIS), but it is up to you, whether you want to activate it or not (by SMS). So, base on that, it is possible to buy the BB device without activate it. But what for BB unit without the BIS, you can't really enjoy the device.. |

the lack of 3G is definitely a let down, and the 2 megapixel camera... sigh... i'd live with 3.2 megapixels but my budget only permits me to consider this BB... hmmmm...

I just bought a BB 8520. and mostly i live with the wifi on it. Trust me you can live without 3g, because 3g in Malaysia still sucky. Unless you always use 3g video call then 3g is important to you. if not then you can consider getting BB 8520 |

I just called the nearest maxis dealer(at 1U) for me asking about this BB,they said need to wait for 2-3 days after I signed up the plan then only can get it...what's wrong with maxis?from my experience when people say wait for 2-3 days it will eventually wait for few weeks...anyone getting this phone from maxis on the spot?

Agree, but EDGE will serve you quite well as I think the 3G in Malaysia is not that good enough..... |

Is it true that without BIS , the BB cannot use MMS , web browsing etc ...
Planing to try the BB 8530 without the BIS ... I just want to clarify that can i just use the BB as like a Normal phone for Calls , SMS , MMS , wifi web browsing . and i read some forum the BB is slower if not use with the BIS What Application could be use and what can't be use if without BIS ? maybe later only subscribe the BIS as the prepaid can on and off the plan rite This post has been edited by wilsonjack228: Nov 6 2009, 08:58 AM |

I am satisfied with the EDGE connection, mainly bcoz I dont do heavy
browsing, but yes, I think it is suffice for mild usage. Anyone created a messenger group for BB 8520 yet? This post has been edited by melthq: Nov 6 2009, 01:58 PM |
