Hi,

I'd like to find out your thoughts on the Aztech HW550-3G router...

I'm looking to purchase it because it is one of the only Wireless N routers (with 4 LAN ports) which supports the Vodafone K3565-Z (ZTE) USB HSDPA modems, at the moment.

How does it compare with other Wireless N routers in terms of:
- security
- stability
- speed

The specifications seem great, but I'd like to find out from anyone who owns one what your thoughts are. I currently have a Billion router/ADSL modem, and it has been excellent in terms of performance and security, so this is my benchmark.

Thanks in advance.
VWD.

maybe you can check older post on the subject or google for the review. Personally I won't be Aztech. I got bad experience using its modem router.

Thank you,... I have used Aztech previously, it's so-so only, but to be fair, I believed it also depends on the broadband operator that you are using, and whether their equipment is compatible with Aztech or not, thus it's not like totally not good,...

So for the normal Maxis Broadband, anybody has any experience if the Aztech HW550-3G is able to allow sharing of 2 or 3 laptops with one Maxis Broadband USB Modem ?

Hi...just want to share my experience with this router. I straight away got this router when i subscribe to digi bb 3 weeks ago, so far the router is very stable, on 24 hrs. the best thing is u can put the router anywhere u want provided that there's a power source near it.

currently i have 1 notebook and 2 handphone connect to it wirelessly, with my ps3 connect to it via lan port. i even bring along the router during my holiday trip to genting last week, so that i can get connected to the www in my room....works great! rclxms.gif

Here bro:
1. choose country
2. choose operator, in your case celcom
3. Type in APN: celcom3g
4. no username and password
5. Tick always connected
5. finish.. biggrin.gif

You tick UMTS(3.5G) option duirng set-up right?
If yes, I'm thinking maybe your USB modem is not compatible with the router.
What type of modem you have?

push the button for 3-5 sec.
Maybe you didn't tick always connected on the setup option hmm.gif
The purpose of that button is for unplugging and plugging of the USB modem. Unlike on PC where you need to disconnect using the GUI, using that router you just need to press it and wait till the lights come off then you can remove the USB modem. smile.gif

hi everybody,
I just got the aztech hw550, I am experiencing some problems and was wondering if anyone can help:

its set up with an Onda 3g modem and works perfectly connected to my desktop via the Ethernet port, but when I try to connect my 2 notebooks via wireless I can't surf the net. the wireless connection is up and running but the browser does not connect (tried both ie7 and firefox3.5)...I was able to connect to the web for a few minutes only and then it just went blank...

any idea?
