review - http://www.hardwaresecrets.com/article/575

my comment - im been using this motherboard for half a year already.. so far this mobo is good and have a good oc capabilities.. however i realises that this mobo has an limitation of 333-340 fsb.. im saying this as i can go higher than 333 fsb for my q6600 if i wan a stable oc below 1.300 vcore.. an advice to those who are interested in learning oc, this is a good mobo to start with.. however if u wan more outstanding oc capabilities from gigabyte mobo, i recommended u to choose p35 or p45. icon_rolleyes.gif notworthy.gif

ok, i will update it.

Since all of LYN forumers want to know about the newest / latest mainboard, I 've updated my thread.

Asus EVO Series Mainboard:

Overview LGA1156 Mainboard: Asus P755D Evo / P755 Evo

In the first Preview on eTeknix we are proud to introduce the first LGA-1156 motherboard in the UK, the Asus P7P55D Evo, which is designed to use the new Lynnfield processors that Intel will hopefully be releasing in a few months time. The first of these should be Core i5 750 clocked at 2.66 GHz and confusingly we should also see i7 1156 socket processors in early 2010 with the 860 and 870 clocked at 2.8 GHz and 2.93 GHz respectively. It’s worth mentioning before we get started that this preview is based on a pre-production motherboard, so some of the specifications may be altered before it goes in to mass production ready for a September release to coincide with Intel’s i5 launch.

Asus P7P55D Evo

Let’s first look at the board’s name, Asus P7P55D Evo, while it first may look like a mouthful it’s actually fairly simple. The P7 denotes that this board is a LGA-1156 socket board, Asus use P6 for LGA-1366, while the P55 refers to the new Intel P55 Express chipset that this board features. As for Evo; this is a new range of boards that Asus will be using in addition to the well known Deluxe and Standard boards we are all familiar with. Although Asus have not given us a release price being a mid range product we can expect this first 1156 socket board to be competitively priced.

user posted image

The board itself, as with many recent Asus releases looks great, with its striking blue and black colour scheme certain to be a hit amongst enthusiasts. You will also notice that this board is completely passively cooled, with angular blue heatsinks around the CPU socket to cool the board’s power circuitry and a more conventional heat sink on the northbridge. This is perfect for a mid range system which is due to replace C2D in Intel’s product line up, while still giving enough cooling for all but the most extreme overclocking.

Other Picture about P7P55 / Deluxe

2nd Overview for AM3 Mainboard: Asus M4A79XTD Evo

AMD's 790X chipset was featured as one of the first in 7-series chipset family. Based on the RX780 chip, this chipset is essentially identical to the AMD 770, except for that it supports the ATI CrossFireX technology. With the introduction of the 790GX, the 790X was less opted for. The chipset made its comeback with motherboards from Gigabyte and MSI that support AM3 processors and DDR3 memory. ASUS is ready with its competitive motherboard based on the AMD 790X + SB750 chipset. The ASUS M4A79XTD-EVO offers some of ASUS' latest innovations.

To begin with, this socket AM3 (Socket 941) motherboard supports DDR3 memory. The CPU is powered by an 8+2 phase power circuit, that is controlled by the ASUS EPU active phase switching controller. The brown PCB uses a 2 oz copper to reduce EMI and enhance electrical stability, a technology found in Gigabyte's UltraDurable 3 motherboards. The 790X northbridge connects to two PCI-Express 2.0 x16 slots (electrical dual x8, when both are populated). Two each of PCI-E x1 and PCI make for the rest of the expansion. The SB750 southbridge supports AMD Overdrive and Advanced Clock Calibration (ACC). Apart from the six SATA II ports it provides, an additional controller gives out one internal port, and an eSATA port. Overclocking is aided by the TurboV feature. VIA VT1708S onboard 8 channel audio, Realtek Gigabit Ethernet make for the rest of the package. ASUS will have this board up in the next few weeks.
